Bird of Paradise - Page 2

Yes. Well, I used to. I now resort to just not being seen publicly while eating to ensure that only my coolness is felt by others.

^ The hell with that, somebody needs to skip straight to this 20-pound, 40-inch flower which reeks of rotting flesh:

Was just thinking that I saw something similar on Mr Porter earlier. In the sale as well, 30% off laugh.gif

Went to go see/smell this Wednesday.

What did you think?

I saw/smelt it at Kew Gardens a few years ago. Didn't think it was all that bad, though when you get close it's pretty strong. I've smelt a lot worse things though (including genuine rotting human flesh). From further away, I thought the flower has a slightly sweet/cloying aroma.

It's interesting how scents vary depending on distance (i.e. concentration of the aroma molecules). Lots of things that smell vile up close are much nicer from a distance (horse manure is another substance to exhibit this effect).

(To be precise, I went to to see the same species as you did in your link. The one in the photo is something different, although has the same colloquial name of corpse flower and also apparently stinks...

EDIT: given the floral scented confusion, you could even say it's a case of "a rose by any other name..." laugh.gif Yeah, yeah, stop groaning, when am I ever going to get the chance to use such a wonderfully appropriate pun?).

We did a few jackets that sold before they got to the website. Currently working on custom/MTM and will probably have jackets in the fall. Shirts will be in fall too, fit screwed by Individualized Shirts so going with another maker.

That same design was on Mr Porter last time I checked, though only as a t-shirt rather than as a shirt. Maybe it's not available to all countries though. Link - http://www.mrporter.com/product/181415
