I hope you caught here early in the week

I was thinking of a joke at the Hugh Heffner roast. Jeffery Ross is at the podium and he mentions that he meets a porn star who wants to date him. He says sure, what day is good for you. She replies, well I'm working Mon. Tues. and Wed. how about Thursday? He replies, actually, how about Saturday

The Hungarian parliament made it legal for 14 year olds to appear in pornographic movies, on grounds that that is the legal age of consent here. Unbelievable!

Today's story is about the backlash now being heaped upon the bill's sponsors.

Does Vass not have any sort of MTO program where you can specify the style of shoe you'd like? I would have thought they'd be happy to do that given their relatively low production numbers.

I see you have reached the Temple of Vass, how do they fit? Great choice on the old English. What other style do they have in your size?

Love your log, keep it up. Don't forget to check out Central Coffee House. Have you gone up to Castle Hill yet?

Once you have your size figured out, you can order any style in any color you'd like.

That's what I would have thought. LARon, did you choose to order your U last monks or were you limiting yourself to what Vass had in stock?

They won't ship, you have to come back to the store to pick them up.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. That's certainly disappointing.

I've been using my Blackberry pretty heavily during my travels. Does anyone know if these minutes will be subject to any type of special or roaming charge? It never before crossed my mind because I use it so much at home and haven't previously traveled abroad with it.

For what its worth, I have a fixed rate plan with cingular. I did have to sign up specially for international calling; not sure if/how that affects the internet messaging function.

Thanks.

Exactly right. They made it very clear that for any order where they take measurements, you have to come back to pick up the shoes. She didn't suggest any type of compromise or accomodation (which suggests that they're really tied in to their distributing agreement).

Thanks for the recommendations and the encouragement VR. I'll check out both tomorrow, right after I take in the baths and a massage, and before hitting the Van Gogh exhibit.

Today I just walked around and snapped photos, bought and enjoyed a cigar, enjoyed a couple of cocktails and scarfed down a steak at the restaurant of a former boxer. It seemed like a rather upscale sports bar, with a full dinner menu standing in for buffalo wings and potato skins and elegant wood and dark carpeting -- and even a wine cellar -- standing in for darts and beer taps.

My walk took me into what I assumed was the official quarter because I passed both their national assembly/parliament and the US embassy, purely on a lark. The bridge linking Buda and Pest is very beautiful at night (I'm on the Pest side, as is Vass).

In fact, I think the whole city (at least from what I've seen) looks better at night; that way you don't have to look at all those god-awful soviet era buildings. Irrespective of the ideology, just having to walk past that crap every day could steal one's motivation. I can see how vodka could easily become the morning drink of choice. Hrrrrr

Cingular charges me $1.09/minute or something like that. Is your Blackberry wi-fi enabled? There should be enough free hot spots for you to stay connected for free.

Though I missed out on a pair of Vass's U-last monks, I just learned that EG is hosting a trunk show at the Polo mansion beginning on Thursday; I arrive NYC on Friday. Where a door was closed, a window has been opened; the sun always rises!
