Strong words from the shoe jedi.

This moves G&G to the top of the list for me.

I'm also interested in MTO, if I can find my proper size (at e.g. a Dallas trunk show).

My primary purpose in attending CSE was to see G&Gs in the flesh, and they did not disappoint. They gave the EGs I was wearing an inferiority complex -- comparing a pair of G&G shoes on the "smart square" last to the EG 888, it was apparent to the casual observer that the former were sleeker and more refined. Then I turned the shoe over and was amazed by the sole, waist, and heel treatment.

As absurd as it is to describe a pair of $900+ RTW shoes as a "good value," the G&Gs compare very favorably with EG and Lobb Prestige.

The man speakes the gospel. The sole and waist treatment are as good as several bespoke shoes that I've seen. And with EG RTW going up by at least $100/per year, the G&Gs do offer an excellent value.

Use your powers for good, Scaramanga.

You have a powerful weapon,
You charge a million a shot -- indeed, you're a hit man who's second to none.

Beat you by 2 seconds on that.

Yes, but are they cheek as well?

Not at all. Tony and Dean sell very cheek shoes as well.

P.S. I did not know Massimo was in the shoe business.

Ah, you meant Kiton...

Who knewed?

We have not had lunch yet. I may see him at a hifi show in May.

The caution that remains about G&G is that they have not delivered many RTW shoes yet. The orders from Fall of last year are still at least a month away according to Girling this past Friday. That will be pushing five months.

And though the risk may be small, well intentioned execution is not automatic in any new venture. If the RTWs are delivered by the beginning of that trunk shoe, G&G will have a hit on their hands, and I will be among the crowd trying to throw money at them. But until then, we don't know for certain.
