Spotting the fakes... Wallet edition

I'm interested in purchasing a new wallet. I've been perusing ebay and have taken a liking to Prada or LV wallet or two. But how do you spot the fakes? A lot of auctions seem to have stock photos.

Do the forum detective skills extend to accessories?

Personally I never trust anyone using stock photos only.
This said, did you look at Igor Semonov's post? Very nice leather goods, no experience buying from him but those look nice.

Check out bluefly.com and eluxury.com for high end wallets.

I find it easier to simply not bother with eBay at all. Practically every leather good -- be it wallet or belt -- from a recognizable (and fashionable) name is an out and out fake.

What's worse is that they're even overpriced for fakes.

Unless you are an "expert" on these 2 brands I would steer clear! Or venture into the many "How to detect fake LV" websites.

Hello,
May be first link for original , but this wallet has been used. This wallet from 2003 or 2004 collection. PRADA's safiano leather on this pics looks strange. New PRADA wallet always has no crumpled surface.
Second link... I think it is fake.
Third...
I saw PRADA's items with black or dark brown "tessuto" linning with logos. For signature "MADE IN ITALY" Prada normaly uses "Arial" font. On the pictures of third link I see "Time New Roman" font with silver "Folgage". On authentic one it must be engraved with no color. It is definitely fake.

This link for PRADA on rafaello-network
