Could you let us know if the weights listed for other fabrics on the Luxire website are measured by square meter?

Running meter and GSM are both used to describe fabric weight.

We have standardized it to GSM as it is independent of the fabric width measurement in the roll.

May I ask why they fit terribly? Any rookie mistakes to avoid? I'm ordering Selvedge raw denim in a few days. Also, do you know how much Luxire increased the measurements to adjust for shrinkage?

Speaking of denim and washing.
How can I get my pair to shrink to the correct measurements? How often do I need to wash them at which temperature? Those are raw denims, so what are the consequences of me washing them so early (after wearing them roughly 5 times)?

Curious about this too.

They fit terribly, because they are supposed to shrink, it has NOTHING TO DO WITH LUXIRE (I think it was clear before but wanted to strech it).

Here are fit pics of the same order, one chino (imo perfect fit), one pair of cuffed flannel pants (length a bit too short, need to get the cuffs reduced) and the pair of denim (adjusted for shrinkage):

All use the same base measurements, but I think the difference in fit is obvious.
Luxire has the expected shrinkage listed on the website:
DENIM: Please adjust for shrinkage: "Expect 1.0" shrinkage in length, 0.25" in waist, hips. Adjust measurements accordingly."

That was my note in the order, but I think a word by word quote from the website.

I am just too inexperienced to order raw denim. I will stick to wool pants (or whatever the correct term would be) and chinos.

I see. The profiles of the Minnis, Hunt & Winterbotham, and Dugdale fabrics need to be updated, as all of those currently show running meter measurements.

I would also make it clear that your website is designed to show GSM, so customers don't end up ordering "10 oz" canvas expecting a medium weight, and receiving a heavy weight 16 oz canvas.

@Spurious I see. Thanks for the pictures. Is that the "raw" denim colour? I expected it to be a brighter blue based on Luxire's pictures. I might hold off on buying it if it's that dark, as I already have something similar.

Theresa emailed me back. Free Standard Shipping is the correct choice. The $15 USA Shipping option is a bug when free is available.

Also, you can send in a well fitting shirt and get it replicated by them. That would be my preferred way nowadays.

The trial shirt is $60 bucks now that is what I was paying for a real shirt 2 weeks ago.

Luxire, the descriptions of all of those say "Canvas" - assume that is a mistake in the adding process.

Received my custom moleskin pants yesterday. I am not very happy with the results, the measurements are completely off, everything is off by 1 centimetre or more.

I hope they will set it right.
