I'm torn between the houndstooth linen and blue chambray linen for the next shirt. The sky blue cotton linen is imho a bit too flat and the navy chambray linen is, contrary to the picture at the website, plain navy without white warp. Blue cotton linen gingham would be also nice, but it seems like Luxire is out of stock at the moment.
Get both. Duh.

I'm getting almost every blue linen they put out that I like. And some white. So far, that's just 3.. but soon 4 or 5.

Some swatches from Luxire; the white balance is correct but there is some overexposure from the scanning process. I guess about 1/3 to 1/2 stops. The 3500 x 2475 pics are at my flickr-folder

Already thumbs-upped the post, but your effort deserves a shout-out in thread too. Thanks!

Agreed. I have four pages of swatches but not worth scanning as half are on NOBD's and I don't have a good scanner or camera.

Thanks Turner!

I just placed my first order for a pair of trousers. I didn't see any good medium weight wools in solid mid grey on the site, but I had heard that Luxire had access to some fabrics not listed. I emailed Theresa to inquire about this and she came back with these options:

Quote:

The Super 100s are 11 Oz. Seen here. Price: $200

There are a bunch of options from other mills too but their prices are usually higher.

It seems like they can do pretty much anything from the Dugdale site, among other options. If you don't see something you like, I would email them and tell them what you're looking for. Theresa was responsive to my request and gave me a nice little list of options, weights and price points.

Anyways, I decided to go with the Super 100s 11 oz in Light Grey Plain (F1824). It looks really dark from the website - not much lighter than the dark grey and charcoal. I'm hoping it's a bit lighter in color than the picture but won't be disappointed if it's darker. I think this is a good medium weight that should be fairly durable and comfortable. The details are high-waisted, side adjusters, no belt loops, flat front, plain bottom and a tapered 7.25" ankle opening. It's going to be a tough wait... especially since my current trousers rotation is awful.

Will do for sure. I'm going to need some fit critique when they arrive.

+1. Indeed, seems the entire Dugdale catalog and then some is available. I have a couple projects in R&D...but will wait until my first order is completed and shipped before jumping into something more ambitious.

Is your first order trousers? I was a little worried about ordering one of the pricier fabrics for my first pair, but I really need some proper dress trousers asap and I figure they can't screw it up so bad that alterations can't fix it. Plus the measurements on my first shirts came out just as I specified, so I'm pretty confident in their accuracy.

I wanted to give something back to the community, since this thread was quite helpful about the process of dialing in the fit and to figure out what is possible and what is not.

Anyway, the whole shirt looks like this (right out of the box, no ironing...):

I haven't received my first shirt from Luxire yet, but I'm already making future plans. I picked up 5 yards of black watch cotton fabric for a pair trousers and a cutaway collar dress shirt.

I hope my first shirt works out well.

Nicely done. Iron it, throw on a sport coat, enjoy your day.

No kidding; I already have about 10 fabrics picked out, plus have plans for a couple of pairs of trousers too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my first shirts work out too; if so, the value proposition is undeniable.

My first order for both shirt and chinos are in production right now. The two special projects I have in mind after I get my first order is a tweed sports jacket and a suit.

I see. I think I'll be in the market for a tweed jacket pretty soon now so I'll be interested to see how that turns out when you get around to ordering.
