p.s.: delayed because of DHL, not because of Luxire.

Can you provide more information regarding the RTW shirts you ordered and your opinion of them?  Thanks.

Just wanted to give a timeline for my most recent order of trousers (replicated).

Ordered - December 12, 2013

Sent replicated trousers to NJ address - December 13, 2013

Credit card charged - December 16, 2013

Shipment notice - January 18, 2014

Delivery date - January 22, 2014

About 6 weeks from start to finish.  I am not concerned with the timeline because part of it was waiting for my pants to be delivered to them.  This is also my first order of trousers so they would have had to take the measurements and set up a pattern.

I am not expecting perfect fitting pants on the first attempt, and have tempered my expectations knowing it will take a few attempts before they are perfected.

this is very helpful, i ordered a pair that will be replicated on jan 11...after you send to NJ they send the pants to india, and then back, so the 6 week timeline makes sense. just killing me!

^ I'll jump in with the timeline of my most recent order:

Jan 5 - ordered 3 shirts from an existing pattern and 1 pair of pants (first time pants order using measurements from existing slacks that I own, I did the measuring based on the guide that Luxire has on the website).

Jan 13 - received shipping notice

Jan 17 - received shipment at my house

I didn't pay attention to when my paypal account was hit with the charges. :embar:

Anyway, can't say enought for the value proposition (price/quality/speed/etc) Luxire!  The pants turned out quite well (although the material was much heavier than I anticipated but that is my bad for not having swatches) and now I have a tried and true pattern/sizing for future slacks orders.

My timelines so far:

Shirt 1: Ordered 12/20, shipped 1/3

Shirt 2: Ordered 1/8, shipped 1/21

Trousers 1: Ordered 12/26, shipped 1/3

Trousers 2: Ordered 1/7, shipped 1/21

Vest: Ordered 1/11, not shipped yet

All were based on measurements; did not send garments in for copying. Seems like they group items together for shipping even if placed as separate orders.

I'm thinking about ordering a vest too. Do they typically run the same price listed as the fabric? Any special measurements needed? Thanks in advance.

They did this for me as well.  My shirts usually take no time at all, but they obviously waited until my trousers were finished so they could ship them at the same time.  I don't have an issue with this because in the long run it reduces the cost for Luxire which in turn reduces it for the customer.

Luxire,

Is it possible to post some photos of the workshop?  I am curious what it looks like, how big/small, how many people there are, etc.  I have no clue if this is the work of one person in their basement or a team of dozens of people.

Just sent in a request for a remake of my first shirt. I'm hoping this is closer. I'm still nervous about the neck size, as it was off by an entire half inch in my last order.

I'm still waiting for a remake of my last order. Six shirts with the neck size being between 0.25-0.5 inches too small on all of them, which made them unwearable if I wanted to wear a tie. It's been over a month now and I haven't received a shipping notice yet. My last email from Luxire was almost 2 weeks ago and they said the shirts would be ready to ship in a week, but I haven't heard anything else back yet. I just sent them another email today, hopefully they give me some good news. Maybe they're waiting for my last trouser order to be finished so they can ship both together. I'd be OK with that, but it does seem to take significantly longer for remakes than new shirts. Hopefully I won't need any more remakes after this one.

the polarity in good experiences and bad experiences is so perplexing in this thread.

I got my first order (one pair of trousers) about a month ago and just now getting around to sharing my experience.

Sent a pair of good fitting jeans in to be used for measurements for a test pair of chinos. There were some minor modifications requested as well.

My pants to be cloned arrived in Jersey on 12/2, and I got my new pants as well as my jeans on 12/24.

I selected the 69.00 blue chino fabric. On first impression, it was lighter than expected and had a sheen to it upon arrival. The sheen has subsided after a coupe washes. The cloth does seem to wrinkle very easily though. The fit is pretty near to perfect to me and got exactly what I wanted. The craftsmanship seems to be above average for this price point, as others have mentioned. The only flaw I found was a stitch at the base of pocket came undone before first wear, nothing major and not worth sending back.

I do have a couple questions:

1. I sent a good fitting pair of jeans for cloning, the jeans had a slight boot cut (flair out below the knee). My issue is, the side seams appear to be too far forward, making the side seams "wrap" around my thigh and calf. This is less noticeable when standing, but when seated the side seam goes from my pocket then more on top of my thigh and then down on top of my calf. This is very hard to explain and difficult to photo due to the darkness of the material. It almost feels like the seams are crooked, but they aren't. I think what is going on is: talking about circumference around the leg (thigh for example), there is more material across the back from inner to outer leg seam, than the front from inner to outer leg seam. Maybe this photo will help: please note the crease in the pant leg, which is perfectly centered on the leg, but once on and standing the seam kicks off to one side. Both legs do this. Any ideas what is going on here is greatly appreciated, and more importantly, how I can effectively communicate this upon my next order. (I do not fault Luxire at all on this, and after some inspection, the jeans are the same way, just not as noticeable, so they did exactly what I asked. I would just like to correct this issue on future orders)

2. I really don't like the "skirt" of loose fabric right below the waist band on the inside of the pants. I don't like how it bunches up after a days wear. What can I say here to either eliminate this or make it more rigid?

 Thanks!

Update - got a response today, my shirts are ready and they were waiting to ship with my pants, which will be ready at the end of this week. I figured as much, but it was good to have that confirmed.

I'm not sure I've seen any polarity.

The bad experiences are the sort of thing that is simply part of the beast when doing online MTM/Bespoke (feel free to argue about what is the correct term).  Measurements off, provided measurements done incorrectly, that sort of thing.  Also unrealistic expectations regarding the fit of the initial order (it takes time to dial in the fit, and it different for different materials too!).

There is a range of process times.  I know it's hard, but to stresss about the process time of a custom made garment made halfway around the world is a bit ridiculous.  Again, this is something people have unrealistic expectations of which feed the panicky "it's been 17 days, where are my pants?!?!??!" posts.

If you come to this thread with any sort of realistic expectation of what online MTM services are, I'm not seeing very many disappointed customers.
