To be honest my post was a bit tongue-in-cheek. Not worrying about thousands of dollars in clothes only applies a to very elite group of people. Still, the underlying idea is that these things take time.

In the world of custom clothing, and especially when it involves overseas processes, part of the process is dealing with "the process." While everyone has their own ideas of what is acceptable customer service, I can tell you there are guys spending a lot more than people spend on Luxire and getting the same (if not worse) level of communication. It sucks, and I'm not advocating it, but it is reality. It comes with the territory.

If custom clothing was easy, cheap and simple everyone would do it.

No idea. While I may not be a big tymer, I also rarely sweat my purchases after I place an order. It will get to me when it gets to me. Now if it arrives wrong, that is a whole other issue...

Honestly, I dont think a lot of people care about the actual time it takes for their clothes to finally arrive.
As a matter of fact, a lot of people stated that they do not care, if it takes 5+ weeks (which is really expected with custom clothing, as you correctly mention).
It's the problem that you dont get quick replies to emails and that something is promised that is difficult to achieve.

Given the process via email, if you are not immediately attended to and sometimes even not after more than a work week, you get uncomfortable and cant be sure anymore that everything is noted as to your wishes. While I dont think this has been the case all that often (probably at a lower or equal rate than similar businesses), it influences the experience.

But really, it all boils down to the already by Luxire addressed fact that they are understaffed in the communications department. After the christmas season, I expect them to be quite punctual with both their replies as well as delivery promises.

^ this. I've stated before that I don't care if it takes over a month, I would just like quick communication and be aware of the longer wait from the beginning. And Luxire has acknowledged this is an issue for them since they are understaffed in this department, so maybe it will be better in the future. And as long as my remake turns out the way I want it, I couldn't care less if the orders take longer if it means I can place future orders for perfect fitting shirts with a few mouse clicks.

I have a pair of rick owens drop crotch cut offs that I would like copied, something like this

Does Luxire do this kind of thing? Or do they only do traditional "tailored" clothing.

They would probably need to use a fairly heavily modified pattern I imagine

How successful do people foresee the results being?

I have a pair of shorts that I want copied as well... Serious question... Not typical short pattern though...

Why don't people who want stuff copied simply send it to Luxire? Put it in a box take it to DHL or FedEx and be done with it. Why go through the trouble of measuring and writing 2 page essays when you can just pay 15 quid and have it shipped to NJ or India. Dozens of people have done it before and from my experience they do take very good care of your clothes. And the final result will fit spot on.
