How long does it usually take to get a reply regarding fit questions? Sent them a few links to pics yesterday, haven't heard anything yet.

A Damaged Shirt...

All, just wanted to seek your opinions here. I don’t really plan to push Luxire for further recourse and do plan to buy from them again, but my situation is somewhat concerning.

For my first order I sent a shirt and pants to copy measurements from. The whole process took 2 months, which I think was longer than average here.

When I received my order, I realized they sent me an extra shirt. Not sure if there was a mistake on their part. Without checking I just threw my original shirt and pants into the dry cleaning hamper for my next run to the cleaners. In any case, the other day when I went to sort through my cleaning pile I noticed original shirt was damaged with a hole punch through both the front and the back of the shirt. The pants were not damaged though they were packed and stacked in the same package.

I asked Luxire what happened, and they agreed the shirt was damaged upon them receiving the package and they suspect was damaged during shipment. I would also note, that it was my fault that I wrapped the package in some tissue paper and packed it in a normal Fedex plastic envelope instead of a hard box. Honestly at this point, I can only trust that Luxire is telling the truth that the shirt was not damaged during their handling.

Here are my points of additional concern:
  • Luxire never once notified or raised a concern that my shirt was damaged during multiple email conversations throughout the production process
  • No note was provided with my finished shipment on what happened and why there was an extra shirt and that my original shirt was damaged
  • The replacement shirt they provided is fine and wearable, but is a totally different material (much heavier vs. the light/soft sea island cotton in my original) and is stripe vs. solid
  • Given the time it took to fulfill my order it just leaves me with some suspicions, especially when my order shipment was all of sudden pushed back a couple of weeks near the end

Again, I’m not trying to air my dirty laundry here and extract more from Luxire. Just looking for opinions if you would do or ask for anything else. It’s a complicated situation and at this point I pretty much need to take Luxire’s word on what happened. I totally appreciate the replacement shirt they provided as well. I also recognize it was my fault for not packing my shirt in hard box. So other senders be warned, please spend the extra few bucks on a box.

I guess I might have an option to try to make an insurance claim on the shipment. But based on prior experience, it’s not really worth all the hoops I need to jump through.

Just looking for some second opinions here…

I suspect that many people send in their favorite old garments that are on their last legs to be copied, so damage doesn't really catch anyone's eye at the company.

^ That is probably true, though the shirt I sent was in the top 3 of my rotation (again stupid for me for not shipping it in hard box). But if this is true, does Luxire send people a replacement shirt (without saying anything) if the one they send in is on it's last legs??

That issue aside, how did the shirt and pants turn out? Pics please...

Not that I'm aware of. Did they specifically state when you raised the issue that it was a replacement shirt? Otherwise, some poor soul might be wondering where his shirt is.

No pics, but posted a quick review a couple weeks back when I got the shipment. Overall happy with the new shirt and pants though they missed a few of the customizatoin details I specified.

Yes. The replacement shirt is made to my measurements.

Please share an image of the damage. As it was shipped a month ago, found only little information about it.

The notes we have says "Blue Lee Baron Shirt - LMQ -  with usage / abrasive damage - probably caused in transportation through constant rubbing". Even if something is damaged in our possession, the probability of abrasion is extremely low.

I think that we have done the best we could by making a replacement. Am told that the replacement was as close to the original as we could make, including contrast collars and cuffs. Again, images will help.

The logic behind making the replacement was to make your Luxire experience good. A regret email informing of the damage in transit would probably have been an easier thing to do.

Hi Luxire,

Thanks for the response. I can send some pictures directly by email or on this forum, whichever you prefer. I can assure you though the damage is not wear or abrasive damage. Clearly there is hole punched though (maybe by a hanger?) both the front and back of the shirt around upper chest/back area. Since the shirt was folded during shipment, I also find it odd that the overlapping folded areas were not damaged, which would seem to imply the shirt was damaged after it was unfolded.

Again, I appreciated the replacement shirt, though I find it very odd that the original shirt was pretty much a solid light blue pattern and was replaced by coloured stripes instead.

^ Hi Luxire. Sorry probably a bad time but you should fix your signature. You misspelled pants :) Makes it look like custom pans :satisfied:

Please share the image. We must be having really strong staff(and foolish) to push a hangar end through a shirt. I appreciate your imagination.

Am surprised it took you 4 weeks to discover a damage on the shirt that otherwise was top 3 in your rotation.

In the interim, for 4 weeks, you were in possession of a shirt you had not ordered, did you not feel inclined to let us know that we shipped you a wrong shirt?

Did some more talking. Do check the shirt again. I doubt Lee would have sold you that as Sea Island.

And maybe you could answer directly here, concerning the new peacoat you got - what kind of weight is the wool you use for it?

We probably need to add some more people to reply to emails. Theresa is so good at it and shares such a nice rapport with many of you that we are not comfortable letting anyone share that space. We are aware of the issue and are working on a solution.

Will have the individual fabric weight added to the peacoat options. We did add some heavy Dugdale wool (25 Oz) yesterday for peacoats.

If you got a bonus shirt that was made exactly to your specs, how come you never bothered to tell them? It's not like they accidentally dropped it in there.

Seems like Luxire could've shot you an email regarding the hole, but it does seem that they tried to do right by you.
