Luxire Custom Clothing - Official Affiliate Thread - Page 168

My first Luxire order arrived today - incidentally, a sky blue summer chambray shirt.  I absolutely agree with the above comments that this particular fabric is poor.  However, the measurements I used are near perfect and only a couple of quarter inch tweaks need to be made for future orders.

Exactly the same story for the green twill chinos I received too - good measurements and construction but the cotton is underwhelming.

I did intend to perfect my pattern on the cheaper items so this doesn't really concern me, just a heads up for anyone considering the same fabrics.

Looking for a couple of summer shirts, and this fabric was near the top of my list.

a combination of both.

chambray isn't a particularly airy weave, so it's never going to be as breathable as linen/cotton or linen (or even a voille).

it feels.. a little cheap.

it's not terrible, and i will definitely wear the shirt, but i would not order the fabric again.

Gotcha. Thanks--very helpful!

Hm, maybe I should switch fabrics. Any recommendations for a casual summer shirting in the cheap(est smile.gif) range?

For a summer-y shirt I think i will try this one next.

The Pale Blue End on End 100/2 was perfect, but it's now sold out. The French Blue 60/2 is quite close. Maybe Luxire can get something close to the Pale Blue back in stock.

AppleMark

This could happen to any shirt. I'm not sure how a button coming off reflects on the quality of the shirt.

The fact that it is the top button makes me wonder if the neck of the shirt is too tight.

But yeah, this could happen to any shirt. Sew it back on. If it keeps happening, that's not good, but one button is no big deal.

I noticed the neck on mine were a little tight, but I haven't had a button pop

The button may not have been properly sewn on. That happened on one of my Luxire shirts. Did I love that it happened? No. Was it a big deal? Not really.

I have a shirt in the summer linen chambray coming (I assume it's called chambray because of the texture), and it looks promising.

I have a shirt in this http://custom.luxire.com/collections/all-sorted-by-price-low-to-high/products/white-sky-graph-checks and like it a lot. Very light weight.

This looks interesting http://custom.luxire.com/collections/all-sorted-by-price-low-to-high/products/sky-blue-glen-plaid

After wearing it 3 times though?

The pic looks a little strange. I've had buttons come off, sometimes on the first wear. But they usually unravel so that there's one or two large threads remaining. I've never had the threads come apart like that. It looks like the threads were cut at the top of the button. Or, as people seem to think, they burst off from the strain of a neck too large for the collar.

I noticed the linen chambray; already wrote it down for a possible future order. (Chambray because of the white weft, I assume.)

Graph checks don't leave my closet often for some reason and I already have a summery glen plaid. Thanks.
