Definitely business casual. I'd have a shirt tucked in.

I've found the linen cotton blends to be a good compromise—some of the openness of linen without the same degree of wrinkling.

That said, if it’s 100 degrees don’t expect miracles.:)

100 degree weather, also known as don't wear pants weather.

IF that cannot be avoided, give linen or blends a try, and do your best to avoid continuous exposure to direct sunlight as best you can lol.

Minnis fresco is always recommended. I was wearing it in 95F weather with humidity and it was fairly comfortable, all things considered.

Oh, also (and forgive me if you've already thought of this this but others perhaps have not) it's a good idea to avoid anything that's too closely fitted to the body.  That's even more important for shirts than trousers, but it's true for them as well.

There's a good reason why when there is a heat advisory in effect we are reminded to wear loosely fitting clothing.

Cheers,

What are some of the top picks for linen-cotton blend pant options? I have a ton of pure linen trousers from Luxire, but I'd like to look at some blends as well.

The Brown Cotton Linen looks great but it's been sold out for quite some time. I added swatches for the Dark Brown Cotton Linen and Dark Gray Cotton Linen to my summer sale order, so I should be able to get a feel for those pretty soon. I haven't tried any of the linen-cotton canvas fabrics yet, and I was thinking of making some more casual pairs out of those (something to wear in place of jeans if it's too hot), but I haven't gotten around to making that pattern yet, I only have my dress pant pattern made up right now.

I'm the same exact position you are with only having a dress pattern dialed in. Today I've been looking at some linen blends as well however I still need to have a pattern made for casual pants.

As I indicated a couple of posts back, I like the linen-cotton blends.  I've got the linen-cotton canvas in both tan and cream and am quite happy with them, but a couple of points are worth noting.

I've always worn them with a jacket and a tie, which is not to say they couldn't be used in a more casual outfit but I suspect that if I were to do that I might just go with a 100% linen because in such a more casual context the wrinkling might not bother me as much (I've got a pair of the all-linen natural ecru mentioned by someone else and they wrinkle quite substantially).  Relatedly, at 11 oz. the blend isn't as light as some other alternatives, but this is one reason why it falls more cleanly and thus a bit more formally.

Cheers,

Cool, thanks for the insight. I already wear my 100% linen trousers with a jacket and tie all the time anyway (usually with linen shirts and ties and lightweight jackets), so the linen-cotton blends being slightly more formal would work for me also.

I've actually been thinking about mailing in a pair of jeans and having those copied in a linen-cotton canvas fabric. Not sure if that's a good idea or not, but it might be worth a shot.

What sort of differences do you guys have between work pants and more casual pants?

My second order from Luxire. Super fast service, great value and excellent communication.

VBC Sapphire Flannel. Very lightweight but not cheap feeling.

Crappy pic just Out of the bag on the way to the cleaners.

I'm giving up on the guessing game with measurements.

I think the best thing to do will be to send in pre-existing clothing to be replicated. For those who have done this do you ship to Portland, or to India? I cannot find the pre-populated FedEx label that I once saw on the Luxire page.

I honestly don't really wear "casual pants." 90% of my pants are either for work or they're jeans. The differences in the measurements aren't that drastic, it's more in the details and construction of the pants that makes them look different.

My dress pants have a fuller cut for drape and a higher rise to balance out my sportcoats. They would look completely like "dad jeans" if worn them with basic white sneakers and a t-shirt.

My plan is a more tapered fit. Perhaps decrease the rise, hip, thigh, and knee measurements ever so slightly.
