Adapted from a pair of shorts.  Took a pair of BB shorts and asked for side button adjusters instead of belt loops, an extended front tab, and just one rear pocket.

I have a suit in Sand - 0549.

Does anyone else find that the buttonholes on Luxire’s shirts are smaller than usual?  Even with thin buttons I find it can be a hassle to get the buttons through the buttonholes, and this is before washing, so shrinkage isn’t the cause.

Cheers,

I've always assumed by button problems were due to luxire's thick buttons, but it could be the holes.

I probably own around 10 Luxire shirts, each in a different cloth, and they all have this issue to some extent.

Weird.

I only have trouble with the cuff and collar buttons. The main ones are always fine. I usually request thin buttons on buttondown collars and it helps.

Ever since I switched to thin MOP buttons, I haven't faced this issue. It was a different story with thicker ones.

I've had the exact opposite experience on three previous shirts the button holes were all too large for the thin dark MOP buttons and frequently became undone. On my newest shirt (with thin cream MOP buttons) I specifically requested to have them look into it and match the hole size to the ligne of the buttons and it came out perfect.

First Cool Linen Cotton - purple http://luxire.com/products/purple-cool-linen-cotton
Love the fabric - very comfortable in hot weather
Hidden button down collar, grey MOP buttons

Note that the lighting makes this look much lighter than it is . It is a very nice dark purple shade.

Thanks.  It sounds like I should simply bring the issue to their attention and, for future orders, request that they enlarge the buttonholes on my shirts.

Hello Luxire Fans,

I'm about ready to order my first Luxire shirt. After reading every page in this thread over a couple months (yes, really), I'm really excited. Love everything's Luxire's doing. I'll definitely be ordering them from now on. However, I have a few questions more experienced users or @luxire / @LuxireStudio could help with:

  1. Is the Lustrous Fine White, the agreed upon go-to, non-oxford, white fabric? I'm looking for a formal, white poplin/broadcloth.
  2.  Is anyone else having the "Customize and Buy" button not working for ALL fabrics? That used to mean a particular fabric was 'Out of Stock.' But it can't mean all, even the new fabrics, are out of stock, right?
  3. Can anyone recommend a a good light sky blue fabric (sky-, powder-, robins egg-, etc- blue) that's not super pale and washed out? (Again, not an oxford cloth, though the sky blue oxford looks great). I know @Tenzing had a simliar question. It's SO hard to tell the true color of the fabric with Luxire's images. And after reading comments on this thread, I don't trust the color depictions. I think I'll likely end up selecting either the Sky Blue Summer Chambray or Light Powder Blue Twill.
  4.  If I select a standard Luxire collar, such as the English Spread, but I increase the collar height (say to 2.25"), back band height, and front band height, will @Luxire increase the point length and spread proportionally? What if I put in my notes/instructions:
    • "Point Length = Proportional to English Spread Collar and specified band & collar heights";
    • "Point Spread = Proportional to English Spread Collar and specified band & collar heights".
  • Would these instructions be clear them? Are they clear to other users? I imagine something very small, like 1/4", would have to be added to keep the spread and collar-lay the same.

Thank you all for your help and your contributions to this thread. It was real fun to read and quite interesting to see how certain things (websites, email service) and Luxire has progressed.

Cheers.

I found the buttonholes quite small on my first order (French cuff and placket) and wrote on my next order, based on my previous order, something like "Make the buttonholes a TINY bit bigger to make it easier to get in buttons/cufflinks". The shirt that stemmed from that were in fact a tiny bit bigger and thus easier to use while not being overly large.

@Don L I got that shirt a couple weeks ago, wore it once, and immediately ordered two more cool linen-cotton shirts. Probably my favorite summer fabric.

Edit: If anyone is interested in that purple fabric, it is significantly darker than that picture suggests.
