SVB - that looks great for a first jacket! The nits are valid but pretty minor and should be easily adjusted on your next order. The fabric looks great as well, my next order will definitely be a linen-cotton canvas option.

I am in the same boat still waiting on my order from the sale.  Do you mind sharing which linen canvas was not available in case it is one I ordered also?

Oh well that's a really nice jacket! How did you provide measurements to Luxire? Did you send them your jacket, or measured it by yourself or something else?

I did not send them a jacket. As I said above, I had a hard time finding anything close to the shape/fit that I wanted OTR. So this jacket represents an amalgamation of several different jackets from which I took measurements, which included a lot of careful cross-checking to make sure everything jived and didn't present conflict. I mostly took measurements from one of my Southwick suit jackets, but used shoulder measurements from a jacket with unconstructed shoulders in order to get that right, which meant adjusting the sleeves proportionally, and so on. The overall length, button stance, and vent depth are from my YSL jacket. I made sure to specify the patch pocket depth and location (relative to the bottom of the jacket) since there had been some odd results for other folks on those. And the only thing I think I actually screwed up was the armholes which I needed to do more math on in order to understand, I think.

I waited 4 weeks before emailing (3 days ago), got a response quickly- pant fabric is out of stock for another 10-15 days, shirt has been cut and was under production. So maybe another 4 weeks all up.

You have 65 posts and I think at least 20 of them are taking jabs at Luxire about the website every few weeks.  We get it, you don't like the current website and think a new website is never coming.  Message received loud and clear.

Honestly I don't find the existing website that bad. Maybe not great for new customers but as a 'power user' I basically just use it to peruse fabrics (sort by price and page through until I find what I want). 99% of my interface with Luxire is through email or simply outlining details in the comment section of my order.

Agreed @Thrifter. While a new website would be great, I've basically "memorized" all the shirts/pants on the site by now, and just use it to browse casually until I figure out what I want for my next purchase.

Easier searching would be great, but it's only going to help me if they also upload a ton more of their unlisted fabrics at the same time.

Jacket looks great.  Best I've seen on you imo.  Good job w/ the measuring and amalgamating.

Imo the breast pocket placement is perfect.  Only change I'd make is to lower the gorge .5-1"

Overall, I'm very pleased with the result. This is a completely unlined, unstructured shoulder jacket in brown linen/cotton canvas. I wanted a casual jacket in this style and the only stuff available OTR in my size was way too short with far too high of a buttoning point. So this one is 30.5 inches long with what I would safely call a "low" buttoning point. The lapels are 3.5 inches wide. Buttons are brown horn.

I do have a couple nitpicks; first, the breast pocket is on the low side. I didn't specify anything for its placement, so Luxire guessed at where it should go and I would say their guess is at the lowest end of the acceptable range. For future orders, I plan to have them raise it 1.25 inches. Second, the lapels don't actually roll to the buttoning point; it looks like they were made to roll to a point about 3 inches above it. I had to press them flat to get them to cooperate. It's almost like they designed the body for a 3-button jacket and then just didn't put the top button or buttonhole on. So that's a design aspect I'm going to take up with Luxire and make sure they fix going forward. Luckily, this fabric is pretty forgiving and pressing was able to get me the result I wanted, or at least, close enough.
Finally, and this is my mistake, the armholes are a little large/low. It looks like I should have used a longer "in sleeve length" to get the armholes higher, since they don't ask for an actual armhole measurement. This may have had something to do with the breast pocket location as well, but either way, this should be easy to adjust (for future orders).

I'm under the impression that the arm scye dimension is controlled by the bicep measurement. The smaller the bicep measurement is the smaller and higher the arm scye becomes. Do the sleeves feel a bit large?

Thanks! Yeah, they nailed the measurements. I was ready for this to be an experiment and possibly-wearable, but I was really pleasantly surprised by how great it turned out both in terms of fit and in terms of having all the features/measurements I asked for. I specified things like the button stance, distance between the buttons, size & location of the patch pockets, depth of the rear vents, etc, and everything is exactly as requested.
The canvas fabric feels like it should only get better with break-in. A machine wash would certainly soften it, but I'm hesitant to do so on the chance that shrinkage would occur. I'm sure anyone getting pants in this fabric is machine washing them, but I'm hesitant to do that with a jacket.

You could ask them to wash the fabric before making your jacket.
