I always assumed that tweed was just simply a type of weave like twill, gabardine, or worsted. Although the latter choices obviously are usually of wool.

If we're talking about patterned cottons this is also very cool:

I have been very happy with the warzone white oxford. It takes a few washes to be in character, and it is wonderfully tough with a rustic character. Perfect for a casual Oxford that doesn't look like you just got off work.

Oh, and the roll.

I'd say casual. I plan on wearing them almost exclusively with untucked button downs. I wear zero sport coats so I'm not the best person to ask on the appropriateness there.

More cotton tweed pants similar to these. Just got them last week but they're awesome.

+1!  I have a pair and it is by far one of my favorite.

@scrolls:  FYI, I think this may be the charcoal version of that fabric.  All the specs are the same.

@Spandexter: you can definitely dress these pants up with a jacket.  Not super dressy, but more of sport look.  I think the fabric would also make for an awesome Harrington jacket.

Yeah those do look very similar. Can @luxire confirm?

Just received a pair of these charcoal birdseye, and I feel confident that they could easily be dressed up with a tie and sportcoat. Comfortable hand and substantial weight with low wrinkling. I like them.

Will try and put together all such fabrics and revert.

I'd actually like to fine one a tiny bit less casual - I wear a lot of OCBDs to work

At that price point, the Thomas Mason Oxfords are very nice.

Our warzones are indeed nice as well.

The G&R look super nice and well priced, but I can't find a white one in plain ol oxford. Lots of other colors, though

The G&R ones are nice too, but, they are more pinpoint. They do not have a classic oxford among their offerings.
