I think it looks perfectly fine.

I agree, I wouldn't hesitate wearing that shirt with a suit. Maybe not a super-conservative business dress interview suit, but I think it would look fine at a wedding.

I really appreciate the feedback. It's just driving me nuts , either the SF OCD effect or I'm just conscious that the wider collar/soft construction is too frumpy as I mentioned earlier. I really need to wear the full regalia and give it a second look....

I have OCD too and get annoyed with things like that. I think wearing the jacket should help, because it will cover part of the shirt collar.

Hey folks,

I am seriously considering commissioning a moleskin jacket. I contacted luxrie and they said they could accommodate me. That being said, would love to hear from those who have received their moleskin garments. I am in desperate need of a winter coat, but nothing too thick as the winters here are very mild. Any thoughts of if moleskin would be too thick?

Also, if anyone be willing to critique a jacket design idea before I order, I would really appreciate it, PM if interested in helping me out.

New shirt came in, i am very pleased by the newest adjustments, especially on the collar. I have a short and wide neck, so i had to shorten the neck band and reduce my previous collar points a bit:

Cool White Linen Cotton fabric, collar and cuffs lightly lined and unfused...

^ looks great...I originally thought that fabric would be too casual to wear with a jacket and tie, but it looks perfect with your ensemble. I may need to add that back to my wish list.

I think FedEx may have attempted delivery of my shirt today while I was at work. When I got a shipping notification from Luxire, it didn't have a tracking number so I wasn't sure when to expect it. I guess I'll find out tomorrow when they re-deliver the package.

I don't keep too much track of this thread, but every time I pop in it seems like people are sweating turnaround times. It reminds me of my first year or so lurking on the forum. There was a guy (forget the member) who posted with (seemingly) genuine surprise that a large shipment of odd jackets, pants and suits showed up to his office one day. While initially he was puzzled, he then remembered picking out the fabrics and having the fittings done months prior. In short, he had more important things to do than worry about thousands of dollars of custom clothing.

By watching the pot y'all are outing yourselves as small-tymers; a scarlet letter in these parts.

I realize you revised your tone after and said you only meant it tongue-in-cheek, but I think this makes you come across as somewhat of a douchebage.

Surely there exists a midpoint between this false dichotomy you've created. As people have pointed out both before and after your post, many of the posts are about the communication times. So some high roller you apparently hold in high regard can afford to forget about a multiple-thousand dollar order of bespoke clothing he made. I don't see how that has any impact on any other individual's personal preferences.

The red oxford is really nice.My favorite fabric I've ordered thus far.

The fabric is nice, but from the photo at the website I was expecting/hopeing for a more saturated red when seen from a distance, like at the wet part of cuff below. The fuzziness of the white weft is the reason for the muted red, something not present in the picture of the fabric.



Nevertheless, no big deal and my fault for not ordering a swatch before.

BTW, the shirring looks much better when ironed thoroughly, even though I will specify "slightly shirred" the next time.

You've been around long enough to know that the whole big tymer vs. small tymer thing is a joke. Loosen up.

You've also been around here long enough to know that, more often than not, "communication" between tailors and clients is a joke. Ask any of the senior guys who use traveling tailors and they'll say there have been times where they thought their tailors had died. Ambrosi is the most recent example, but almost all the Napoli guys have serious "business processes" issues.

FWIW, I've never had any problem with Luxire and their communications. They have always answered my questions thoroughly and properly.

I'm not going to crap up an affiliate thread with a slap fight, but I think you have taken my posts way too seriously. It's the internet.
