Luxire Custom Clothing - Official Affiliate Thread

Just figure I'd offer up my thoughts on fabrics that I have purchased thus far:
I have stuck to conservative business dress blues and stripes and probably won't deviate much from this going forward.

Pale blue poplin: Smooth, lightweight and crisp, like it should be. It irons easily and stays fairly wrinkle free, but probably wrinkles the most out of all my shirts (which really isn't a lot). Nice shade of blue.

Light blue university stripe 100/2: I love blue and white striped shirts in all sizes. These are pretty small stripes at 2mm. I think the width of the stripes goes Bengal>Candy>University>Pencil. This irons well and stays quite wrinkle resistant throughout the day. Definitely a staple.

Light blue bengal stripe 100/2: I don't know the details of the fabric, but this shirt is super soft and is practically non-iron. In fact, aside from the collar, I didn't even iron the shirt the other day. It holds up very well throughout the day. I'd love to know the specs of this fabric and what other shirts are made of the same fabric. These are wider stripes at 5mm.

Luxire Privilege Collection Blue Herringbone: This is a fantastic fabric as well. Super soft and the herringbone is very, very subtle. For all intents and purposes, it's a plain light blue shirt. It's not quite as wrinkle free as the aforementioned bengal stripe shirt, but a quick once over with an iron and the shirt stays nice all day long.

I have ordered the light blue dobby twill and will report on that. I am also looking forward to trying some of the Monti shirts as well as the light blue university stripe.

If anyone is looking for a few staple blues or blue stripes, I definitely recommend the above.

I agree, but I was informed it was close in darkness, but probably less olive.

Got my copper chino pants today. I initially had sent them measurements of a pair of JCrew Classic fit pants I had, that were a bit big in the waist. I adjusted for that and basically sent the same measurements.

I have not had time to measure the pants to see if they are the same measurements I had sent, but they seem about right. I think I should have simply went a big bigger on the hips and maybe waist sizing, so they're a bit tight, but I am also dieting right now so myabe they'll fit great after I drop these 10-15lbs I plan on.

Construction looks great, though. They feel pretty thin for 250g, I was expecting a thicker cotton, this feels more like..hm, a poplin compared to an oxford, in shirts, if that makes sense.

Pics later tonight. I've already managed to rip off the waist button when performing a paleo squat (my test for well fitting pants, LOL)

Get the DAKs waist adjuster on the next pair...my waistline fluxes weekly so I can relate. I'm waiting for my copper chinos as well. Regarding the material weight, Im pretty sure chinos are supposed to be light. I've had OTR chinos and they were light too. Khaki material and twill is heavier for certain.

adjusters would have been a good idea.
all in all im happy, but would be thrilled if they were a bit looser in the seat. There is a bit of fabric so maybe I can just take em to the tailor to get the seat let out a bit.

I have the same problem with my pants, they rise pretty much up my behind.

yeah, I made my first pants order to have adjusters since I knew it would take one or two tries to get that right and that was something I really wanted in bespoke pants. I didn't order that for the copper chinos though because I want to have measurements with and without the adjusters. The next pair they're working on now (grey houndstooth) will have different measurements to accomodate the adjuster function better...although they still work in the first pair (wearing them right now and the fit is superb).

I actually have a question for my fellow Luxire fans (and I'm a huge fan). My OCBD's tend to be a pain when ironing the collar. There's so much extra material there that I spend an eternity getting it ironed without wrinkles (or I give up and deal with a few wrinkles). I do know how to iron, as I've been doing it myself since I was a youth. The lighter cloths don't have the problem as much. I had been assuming it's something to do with allowing for shrinkage but I've washed these shirts enough times now that I don't think that's it.

Is there something I can do with my future orders to make this easier for me?

Interlining or no? Fused or no?

I suppose that's extremely relevant! No interlining, and not fused. Thank you for your advice. Here's a photo showing where I give up. Current workflow is I iron right out of washer, don't spend much time on the collar though, button and hang to try. When I wear, I iron just the collar. It's easier to iron those wrinkles out when not moist.

It does seem like there's excess fabric, but I'm not a shirtmaker. What does Luxire say?

What would you guys recommend if I'm looking for a "crisp" white dress shirt that doesn't wrinkle easily? I'm not sure what fabric to go with. I do like the curved collar I've seen on their site. I hope it retains its shape after washing, etc.
