We can get some good resin buttons in different colors.

Anything nice in brown? Pics would be nice, but a description will suffice.

Kudos for prompt responses to the thread, by the way

I once again have a question regarding the numbers of fabrics.

I read this interesting articel of Mr. Kabbaz but am not able to transfer gained information to the fabrics shown on the Luxire site.
http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs018/1101478760242/archive/1102772493004.html

You said the higher the number the finer the fabric, so I guess you were talking about what Mr. Kabbaz refers to as yarn number?
I enjoy OCBD shirts to be made of a "thick" shirting, so if I understood correctly, I should stick to a low yarn number.
Yet again only a few days ago Christian B asked for the thinnest oxford cloth you offered and you directed him to the "80/2" royal oxfords.
I would have thought that 80 on a scale from 24(thickest) to 300(finest) would be quite thick.
Is this a misconcept because 120 or 140 shirts are already very dressy and numbers above those rarely achieved?
Which range of yarn number should I look at?
What yarn number do these two have?

http://luxire.com/collections/oxford/products/classic-blue-oxford
http://luxire.com/collections/oxford/products/blue-pencil-stripes-royal-oxford

Also which role does the yarn count(according to Mr. Kabbaz) play in this whole equation and does any shirtmaker other than Mr. Kabbaz ever discuss or publish it with/to the customer?
Also I have noticed you have a whole lot of different ways of describing cloth:

http://luxire.com/collections/dress-shirts/products/classic-blue-herringbone-80-2
Yarn number 80, two-ply, correct?

http://luxire.com/products/sky-blue-hairline-stripes
Yarn number 50 on either warp or weft and yarn number 60 on the other way around, correct? What does the "s" stand for?

http://luxire.com/collections/dress-shirts/products/white-blue-pinstripe
Yarn number 140, two-ply, correct?

http://luxire.com/collections/sort-by-price-high-to-low/products/navy-mid-gingham
Yarn number 40, and because not mentioned otherwise, one-ply, correct?

If not stated differently, two- or one-ply always means 2x2 or 1x1 for the fabrics you offer?

Your understanding about the numbers is correct. As 80/2 is the finest Blue Oxford we have, hence guided there.

Discussion on fabric is an important part of shirt making process. The count is a part of the picture. Apart from the count, the construction, and the weave would complete the picture.

In an online model, the email and forums play the role of facilitator. Interested customers do write to us for/with information on the fabrics and they make good discussions.

As others have pointed out and we have acknowledged before, the style of presenting information is not consistent on the site and is in a desperate need of an update. Do let me know if there are any problems in understanding the information.

If it is only the warp or only the weft, both numbers would be specified. 's' is used for singles.
When it says 40 or 40s, it is single ply. When we add a 40/2 or 40/4 the second number is the ply.

If you like thicker fabric for the oxford, then the smaller numbers would work best.

Thank you a lot for the reply!

As I seem to have edited my post while you were already answering to it, could you tell me what yarn number those two following fabrics have?
http://luxire.com/collections/oxford/products/classic-blue-oxford
http://luxire.com/collections/blue/products/blue-white-stripes-oxford
http://luxire.com/collections/oxford/products/blue-pencil-stripes-royal-oxford

Regarding your site, for your a homogenous presentation of the information would be best.
Maybe even with a little fabric guide for those who are not yet familiar with all of the specifiactions like myself.
Also it would be much appreciated if you could add the yarn number to all available fabrics.
Some of them, live the two linked above, do not have much information to them.

I would love even more detail about the fabrics - stats like staple length would be really nice since that is usually omitted and a huge factor in fabric quality.

All 3 are the same: 2/20 x 2/80

Thank you for your suggestions on the website improvements.

Most Black-Friday / Cyber Monday orders have been fulfilled. By Monday, we expect to fulfill all November orders and a few December ones too.

Strange. I received a confirmation email immediately as the order was placed. Nothing since then. The order is still in unfilled status on the site.

Has anyone received status on their Cyber Monday order yet?

I got mine Wednesday, ordered it Cyber Monday. I've attached some pictures and thoughts about it.

Sorry about the setting, the only room with enough light on this dreary day was my home office so I had to drag in the ironing board.

Free pocket square and what I guess was the free collar stays offered, thought there were going to be a few more, but no worries.

Shirt is wonderful, well constructed and the measurements are pretty much spot on. Stitching is clean, and pattern matching is perfect on the sleeve heads, though a bit off for obvious reasons on the yoke. No fit pics because I messed up the back measurements and I don't have time, but I'll have to send them pictures and ask which measurements to adjust to fix the problems.

Bottom button hole is horizontal like some other styles, which is fine, but admittedly annoying before coffee in the morning.

Collar stays are sturdy and heavier than I expected. They're a tad thinner than a quarter, and don't flex with decent pressure. Pictured is the original style Luxire.com collar stays I bought about a year ago on a whim.

And finally the pocket square. The edges are machine stitched, and compared to most of my others, huge. I've overlaid my SF approved™ Kent Wang white linen to show the difference in size and edges. I'm not 100% sure how well it will fit in my jacket pocket but we'll see. In the spirit of SF group think, I recommend Luxire switch over to hand rolled edged on their squares.

The second white square pictured is an actual handkerchief, for reference.

Overall I'm very pleased with the order and would easily recommend Luxire to others.

When hand work is perceived as machine made, it is a tribute to the quality and consistency of the skill of the artisan. All Luxire Pocket Squares are always hand rolled.

Cotton squares are 13"x13"

Well in that case, I retract my statement and am more than a little impressed. It's very unusual to find such evenness in hand rolled squares, a quick once over between an old machine stitched one I still own and my others had more in common with the machine stitched. Pass on my compliments to your maker.

My comment about size wasn't a complaint, I apologize if it was perceived as such. They're still bigger than I'm used to though.

Fighting words!
