I remember when i was 18-19, (now 25) comfortable casual trousers were called combats.
i dont mean ones with loads of pockets, just 1-2 more but were a thin light material, normally khaki/beige colours that were very comfortable, and could be worn in and outdoors

i will be wearing them with a thin sweater like this one : http://tinyurl.com/7ceudmc

but looking at some online stores, its either tight trousers or chinos

what is the correct current name of these 'combat' comfortable trousers?
i am buying from high street shops today

i know GAP refer to them as cargos, but shops like zara dont have them

here is a photo of what i mean, my old pair

thanks

You mean, like this kind of thing?

I think it's perfectly acceptable, to wear cargos--a lot of SFers would disagree--as long as they are nice trousers. IE: They are wool or light cotton, well cut, etc, and not those stupid military-looking, bulky abominations! :p

Those top ones are from Orvis; I know Norse Projects sell some as do GAP. I, even, think Ralph Lauren does from time to time.

Kind of, but that's with a belt and shoes, which is crazy,

they're casual trousers, not formal,
so in the UK what are what i described, called?

i dont want the military bulky trousers, more of just a casual comfortable light trouser, no belts used

No belt? But what if they have belt loops?! :fu: :p

Yeah, they're called cargo trousers. Uniqlo sell some--even if on the tight side.

Orlando Bloom likes teh tight cargos.

Those look like hiking pents.
Try an ourdoors shop like REI or the UK equivalent.

Yes an outdoors shop is probably your best bet. Blacks, Millets or the like.

ive just seen these uniqlo ones, which seem to be what im looking for:

They also come in Black and Olive

they look like chinos with 2 more pockets, but i prefer the more casual look you get with cargos, i find chinos to formal looking

Would you wear these to say , the shops?

what shoes would you wear with these cargos?

We couldn't talk you into a nice pair of chinos, huh?

Have you looked at the MC casual thread, or over at the SW&D side here? You might see something to inspire you there.
