Ann D is like Gucci with the volume amped up, literally and figuratively.

it's funny about ann... they got new menswear designer for the past 3 seasons and she it's not involved in nothing except footwear design and the styling. which it's few days before the show. very bad casting and hair. agree with haider comments too, looks like he it's being sneaking at night from his floor and adding fabrics and references on their mood board...

This won't stop people talking about her vision for this collection.

A few quick observations thus far (being in Paris actually ends up meaning I have less time to look at all the shows):

Yohji was great.

I wish I could have seen the Ann collection in person. This is one of those times when I feel the photography may not be properly representative of the clothes. Personally, the styling is a bit overwrought, but then again it is an Ann collection (she has been working quite closely with the same styIist for a while now). Purple boots are nice.

I've found the BBS look is surprisingly recognizable (to me at least) on the street so the reaction to him going slightly more sleek/refined is not surprising. However, the bigger question is whether he was successful in actually executing this added refinement?

Gustavolins was nice. The blue suit and the structured long coat stood out in particular.

Anyone talking about Junya should do themselves a favor and check out the Walter Van Beirendonck show. The tailoring (both in terms of suiting and the more casual pieces) is absolutely spot on and leagues ahead of Junya right now.
