How many time have you worn two suits cut from identical patterns, out of identical cloth, the only difference between the two being that one is sewn by hand and one by machine?

I like the way you think.

^^ It sounds like we need to do a randomized double-blind study.

Sharp shoe indeed! What is the model name and is this available? I've seen it called brown oxford, but the associated photo then proceeds to describe a captoe.

It is a wholecut oxford from the Handgrade collection. It may go into production early next year.

The more I wear and look at my Andrew Lock shoes the more I like the last. It has a nice sleek last without being overextended or stylized. Very nicely done. I'm currently having a sport coat made...

I recently ordered a pair of bench grade oxfords to replace a pair of AE's. First impressions have been positive, although I haven't truly broken them in yet (haven't had the occasion/opportunity).

On the CS side, e-mail was responded to within 24 hours. nod[1].gif

I agree.  I picked up the benchgrade captoe in brown and quite like the last.  As for quality, I would put on the same level as AE, but with a much sleeker last and the sole finishing is well done.  Great shoe, and I highly recommend to others.
