Isaia Napoli Jacket Question (With Pictures)

Is the buttoned tab on the right in the first picture a throat latch? Supposed to be used with the buttons under the collar in the second picture, right?

I have never seen a detachable throat latch stored at the bottom of a jacket like this.

Yes - I have a Loro Piana like this.
IMHO - It beats the hell out of having it flap around the collar....

Thanks. Yeah, looks better stylistically this way.

I don't know why, but it reminds me of an eject handle on a jet:

That's a functional throat latch. My impression is that in this case it's in
reality ornamental. Unless I am incorrect, the fabic of the garment looks
so light that closing in your collar with it in wind or rain would only be
symbolic: you'd freeze or get soaked in any case. I had one on a sport
coat of heavy tweed. It actually worked when there was a sudden change in the
weather.

Yep, but unfortunately the critique thread people said it was too short on me.

Been keeping it hanging around because it's so beautiful. Checking on the correct term for the handle before I B&S it. musicboohoo[1].gif Worst part is I traded a different Isaia jacket and some bucks for it.
