What's wrong with eBay? Where are you located?

I'm in the US, nothing wrong with ebay just wanted to know if I had any other options. I'm looking at about $130 on Ebay and I figure I could get it cheaper somewhere else

Seriously H&M cleared their stock months ago. Ebay is probably the best bet unless you see it in the classifieds here.
Obviously everyone here was a fan of the side zips, but the stock is pretty much depleted. Do you guys know of a good alternative? I was a big fan of their clean cut, low profile styling with a fairly neutral rounded toe. However there was a well known issue with their build quality in that they had a cheap sole that sometimes fell apart.

Im looking for a similar style and if anything I'd like it to have a more substantial heel. A rubber sole is fine since I don't want to worry about a puddle ruining the sole. Maybe a price point of <$150 since they're mostly for streetwear and bars, and I don't want to get pissed at someone scuffing $400MMMs
post #770 of 791

are the Sidezips the same shape as the original MMMs?

Does anyone here have the confetti t-shirt? Is it tts? That neck looks a little tight.

i have.

L wear size S, it"s more a "straight" fit than slim, but you're quite right, the neck is quite tight, and since the quality of cotton is not that "premium", it loosened quite fast, after a few hours of wearing (i have a Disney's "Hercules" neck though! :D) and fits just right now.

To be honest, no matter what the purists say, l gotta admit, after buying many pieces of HMMM off eBay recently, this collection was a success (quality wise... heard it kinda flop sales wise ). l've been collecting HMMM stuff here and there.

Now the hype has died down, but believe me they are really good pieces. For those still buying around (eBay, etc...), a little review from what l have :

- The jackets have really solid and good stitching (l've had the grey fused jacket for 10 months now, still looks new (2% of elathane and 98% wool), no piling, no shoulder falling apart (as H&M jackets are regularly accused of). They are Slim fit cuts, the suits jackets have a small "secret" pocket in the left-front pocket, which is really cool ! What i really like is the fabric : 100% wool and the lining is viscose (like regular 'designer' stuff), which is really good for 'breathing' (as opposed to polyester)

- T shirt is quite thick and "warm", the around-the-neck collar turned me off at the beginning (i usually wear v neck Ts), but the good thing is that is keeps most of the sweat on the neck to damage the back of your jacket collar (i have a white denim jacket for example).

- The "supporter scarves" jumper/sweater is really cool (i don't have the 'oversized' sweaters, not really a fan),  it gets a lot compliments and is a good conversation starter. The sleeves are quite long though, but no pilling yet and the stitchings in between the "scarves" are quite solid.

- The shirts (the bow-tie shirt and the the "fusion" shirt). quite disappointed with those. The cut is weird. Very long "monkey" sleeves, the fabric is your typical "paper" cotton they use for regular H&M shirts. it wrinkles like hell, and too thin, i have torn damaged them yet, but they look really fragile).

- The suit wool trousers (beige and navy blue) have a wonderful slum cut. l recommend sizing up. l wear a size 30 but went 32, and they fits fime (not really suitable if you have thick thighs, they're really cut close to the body but visually the result is really good!). as good as real Margiela trousers. again the stitches are solid and the fabric is fine.

- the Boots (grey and white painted) are OK (to answer to mr Usneum), the boots fit TTS but the design slightly different from the original MMM boots : HMMMM boots are pointy-er than regular MMM, the leather is obviously less good than MMMs - but still way better than your average high street brand... Nothing to complain about yet, l'm quite careful with leather soled shoes (no walking in the rain or the snow - l've read people complaining about the boots falling apart fater walking in the rain, snow, partying around with...). Actually the leather on the grey boots have slightly creased (after 12-15 wearings), but, as l use shoe trees its not a big deal. The white painted ones seems to hold up better, (l guess the coat of paint kinda 'hide' the creases or even prevent them). The soles : the gum on the heel is fine, the leather is quite fragile but again, still holds up better than your average leather sole. L have the tan loafer as well. The crease is more visible here, maybe due to the fact they are "low" shoes and the light color. fit TTS as well.

- The Camel coat : l wear size 36 (1m75 tall and 65 kg), the tailoring is TTS, the sleeves not too long, but the coat itself needs to be cropped (as many of you probably know, MMM stuff always seem to be made for 1m80+ people... not shorties like us). 100% wool (thick fabric and warm), lining is polyester in the sleeves (not the best choice - read above) and cotton on the body. the shoulders are perfect (as the chest is quite 'slim fit', if you want to wear it with thick sweaters/jumpers or are a bit "muscular", you may have to size up. The wool seems ok, just ok. some light pilling here and there (worn it 4 months, 2 a week).

- The leather guitar bag : Very good piece here. although it is esthetically interesting, it's not really practical as they describe it as a "48hrs travel bag". it's quite hard to succesfully pack up stuff in this. But the leather is quite fine, and the design very good (its probably the HMMMM copy l enjoy better than the original MMM item). head-turner and conversation starter too at the airport, train station, etc...

- the upside down bag  :the leather feels a little cheaper compared to the guitar bag. although l bought it because l like it, persinnally, it's still a quite feminine bag. The strap is too short to wear it as a messenger bag and even after owning it for many months, l still find mysel opening the wrong side, so my stuff all fall down! grrr.

- The bracelet (the "S&M" looking black leather bracelet and the faceless watch one) : the leather is quite thick and stiff (maybe a sign of good quality?), the stainless steel looks and feels great, but both were probably made for Arnold Schwarzzenegger arms, as they are BIG. l mean really BIG ! nice items though.

- The white (an the red) painted jean : you can go half a size (or full size up). because they will barely loosen up with time, the paint made them stiff and apparently made them shrink as well, as they fit really slim (Note : l have some butt, and ALL those HMMMM trousers were probably made for flat-*assed men!). lookwise, they're good.

- The reversed jean/denim Jacket. For the trousers, same issue as the painted jeans (tight, needs sizing up, made for flatless men too), and a bonus (or not) : it makes a weird bulge on the crotch which attracts the eye lol  (i've had some weird comments from my female co-workers lol). If you have big penis fetichist around you, that may interest them :)). The reversed jacket is short with (again) monky long arms. . .

PS : l'm looking for the HMMM navy/midnight blue trousers, size 32 (48 euro size), if any body is selling his (at a fair price lol).

Thanx

Did you mean you wear a size S and you have a size S? So that means they fit pretty much true to size right?
Yes, True to size, but not a slim cut close to the body, it's a"standard straight cut.
The sleeves have the right length. (Again, I'm 1m75 tall and 65 kg, see if this applies to you).

Oh this is real helpful actually. I'm about 5' 8" myself and about 135lbs so very similar to you. It should fit me like it fits you. Did it shrink a bit after a wash? How long is it? Any chance of a fitpic? And thanks!

Here you are..

No the t shirt hasn't shrunk yet (washed it twice), though the confettis seem to fade (paint), but nothing visible, the most part remains.

It wrinkles a lot too. You i suggest you iron it inside out (to avoid damage on the painted confetti) before wearing. but overal a good t shirt. 8/10

Thanks for the fitpic. Appreciate it! Looks like it will fit me fine too, though the sleeves look a little wide for more muscular frames maybe (which I do not have). Oh well... I bought one off eBay and it should be arriving soon. How much was retail on this tshirt? I have a feeling I overpaid by quite a bit haha.

Retail in the UK was £24.99

This collab was a HUGE flop sales wise if you consider that in London the white leather jacket ended up going on sale for £15 each and there were a lot of them on sale. This is the jacket that retailed at £180 originally! The boots went on sale, the jeans went on sale and I'm talking clearance price as well.

I bought a lot of items from this collab on the first day of release and I got burnt badly along with many others I'm sure.

hey didn't know this thread was still alive.

my grey boots have held up great considering the price I paid for them. They've been through rain storms, rough nights out, etc, had plenty of drinks spilled on them, and while the finish is grubby as hell looking since I never bothered to polish them (I prefer the grey look over black), they've not deteriorated at all. The rubber on the heel started to peel a bit so I just superglued it down.

blurry indoor pictures since its dark out

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Shape-wise, I see very little difference between my real MMM's and these. Real MMM boots are much nicer leather though.

Thanks! Yeah I've read that everything went on sale at deep discounts very soon after it came out... I don't know how I missed the entire thing. I was finishing up with school at the time and had not visited this thread or an H&M in a while. I would have gone on a shopping binge if I was aware of this at the time. Now I'm hunting eBay trying to find things that are not grossly overpriced from this collab and in my size. Not working so well.
