Oh No: Throwing A Bachelor Party - Page 2

resurrecting an old thread... I have the honor of organizing one of these things for an old friend, but have been asked repeatedly by the guest of honor to do "nothing crazy" because "PLEASE...I don't want to get arrested" What the hell? I'm far from wild, so does this mean my friend is whipped beyond the point of return? I mean, is steak house, drinking, maybe strip club crazy? I'm tempted now to try and get him arrested.

I would interpret "nothing that would get me arrested" as "no prostitutes or drugs." I think steaks, booze, and strippers are definitely fair game unless the groom specifically says they are not.

Ah yes, that reminded me of the missing detail--his lady friend e-mailed me to say "no hookers"

which wouldn't have been part of it anyway, but yeeeeeeesh.

Does she realize that hookers /= strippers?

Might as well stay home and play scrabble (no cuss words allowed young man).

My brother had his bachelor party two weekends ago. What we did was fly out to Vail, CO with a few of his really good friends and skied and drank Thursday-Sunday. There were no strippers (apparently there aren't any local ones and you have to ship them up from Denver), but it was still a damn good time.

Will someone explain this to me.

Why is it ok to have sex with a hooker/stripper the night of your bachelor's party but not at any other time in the relationship?

I don't believe it actually is. At least I don't know of any women who would abide by such a thing.

My friend had his about a month ago. We started out at breakfast, golfed drunk (while drinking from a keg a friend brought), smoked cigars while golfing, gave up golf early, had some food at the clubhouse, then went to the hotel room we got downtown (for those of us who didn't live down there), took a bit of a break, went to dinner (was to be a steakhouse but we decided on a private club's bar), then hit some bars/clubs chosen for the amount of attractive women we could embarrass him in front of, and had them sign his shirt (and eventually upper body, and face) with Sharpies. Closed up the clubs and went back to the hotel. Everyone had a great time, we got to act like jackasses (semi-responsibly), and no one got arrested (not a given with this crew). I suggest similar manly activities done in a non-serious manner.

Bachelor parties are annoying the hell out of me also. A really good friend is getting married, and rightfully deserves a bachelor party.

Difficulty is that they have recently changed their wedding venue from Europe to Canada (fair enough, they are both Canadian), and now talk is of a ‘weekend away’ bachelor party.

As before, he is a great guy, but for the wedding alone we’re talking about a week away and a few thousand UK pounds. Considering the state of the Pound vs the Euro, the bachelor weekend away wont be cheap either (prob at least 500 Pounds).

All in, I’m looking at burning a 5-6 workdays and at prob 2,000 Pounds plus on this wedding. That doesn’t include my girlfriend who will also be attending both the wedding and the bachelorette party. I mean hell, in this economy ~4,000 for someone elses party is ridiculous.

It will prob annoy me even more in coming days / weeks and I'll end up posting in General or Dumb
