I'm a 28 year old who is just now starting his adult wardrobe. Previously I had no idea how to dress, and shopping involved a lot of frustrated buying of childish clothing that I didn't wear and ultimately just wasted money on. I've read a lot of these forums and other style blogs around the net and am starting to understand the investment in more expensive clothing that will have value, last longer, and that I'll enjoy wearing.
That said I am looking to try and build the staples of a complete wardrobe and have seen suggestions that some nice shoes would be a good place to start. I would like to pick up two pairs, one black and one brown that will look good, last a while, and be versatile with my future clothing. I was browsing the Barney's website and found some nice looking dress shoes that are on sale, I would really like to get some opinions on these before I make a purchase so I know that I'm making a smart investment. That said, here are the two I'm considering:
I'm a size 12, so the thought was that maybe a cap-toe would be better than a plan-toe that could make my feet look very long
Thought these look pretty slick, but not sure how versatile wingtips are.
Thanks for reading, your feedback would be extremely appreciated.
P.S. If it's relevant, I'm also looking at getting a navy and charcoal suit. Right now my thought is to get 2 BB suiting essential suits in a milano cut, so these shoes would be paired with those suits (unless you folks have a better suggestion, indochino? jcrew ludlow?)
