Hi Everyone,

I'm new to UK footwear, and am interested in purchasing AS Moore. As I understand, the Moore is available in Black, Cherry and Chestnut. I am mainly after a dark brown shoe, so was wondering if you would describe Moore Cherry being close to dark brown, burgendy or red. There are so many pictures on the internet, all taken under different lighting, so it is difficult to tell.

I really like the colour of AS Hunt Antique Mahogony (dark brown to my eye), but not really after a wingtip design. I prefer the simplicity of the Moore, but afraid to pull the trigger as I am unsure of colour.

Finally, in regards to sizing, I am Size 7 in Loake 1880 Strand (Capital Last). This shoe fits very well. Safe to say I'll be a size 7 in AS too?

Thanks in advance!

I have the Hunt in Mahogany. It is mid brown IRL, not dark brown. AS use the name Oak for their dark brown's

I recently received a pair of Moores in chestnut - it is closer to a medium brown than dark brown. If i recall correctly, I did see the Moore in cherry at the trade show in NYC. I would say its darker than chestnut but I dont think anyone would confuse it with a dark brown color. There's quite a bit of red in there.

I can also post pictures of my Moore Cherry when it is delivered - DPD decided to send it back to britain after one failed door delivery attempt, so shipping is delayed... A belt in AS Oak colour will be in that package aswell so you get a picture of the two colours together.

Would you mind posting picture(s) of it? I can't decide whether to purchase Chestnut, Cherry or Oxblood as I'm confused by the pictures on the net. Would also be appreicate if someone could post picture(s) of the other two colors.

I'm also confused about the last. Which lasta would you say that AS 724 (Moore) is most similar to, C&J 348, Vass U-last or Vass F-last (these are the ones that I have and can relate to, thus the options)?

Thanks in advance.

Excellent G! Burnishing on the Moores in cherry seem faint. It's like EG-lite :) trying to hold back from buying them in chestnut and get them in cherry.
