hey cherry boys how are you going to care for these? Alfred Sargent recommends using Saphir Dark Brown polish on their cherry shoes. I am going to try using just this polish and nothing else.

I expected these too be a little brighter in red but they are not. In fact AS Cherry almost the same as EG Bauxite color. Look at the picture below the swatch covering laces is EG Bauxite.

Just purchased the last AS Moore in Burgundy from AFPOS. Excited and can't wait to try them on! The pictures here really helped make my decision!

The 724 is wider than C&J's 348. I would compare the 724 closer to C&J's 341 but with a more chiseled toe. I assume the AE you got was on the 5, which is definitely narrower than the 348. Another one for the stables:

Thanks AFPoS!
I absolutely love how this shoe looks here. Aargh, must resist; don't need any more dress shoes

What is the colour of that calf leather? It's gorgeous!

Cherry!

You don't need it, but you WANT it! :)

I'm planning on using burgundy since it has a red tint. I want to keep the color and avoid darkening it since I have a few burgundy shoes from EG and G&G.

Where did you get the swatch from EG? Do you have a full compilation of their colors?

Hi, question for armfield owners, how sleek is the shoe? I'm looking for an Oxford and currently I have my church city line HK model which I really like the shape of. I know someone posted a comparison pic with the AE pair but it still looks rather chunky to me. Any real life experiences? Thanks

Not at all chunky. It has a nice assymetric shape, classic but sleek and elegant IMO. Not a great pic, but....

DpprDr,

I do not have a full compilation of colors just a couple of swatches given to me by nice folks at Skyvalet shoes way back. I think I am going use Saphir Dark brown polish as recommended by AS and see what happens.

Clee1982,

I do not have G&G Cherry to compare.

+1, though for one it's already sold out in my size, and I should probably save up and buy GG's St. James...

Can't go wrong with either one. In regards to price, I think both the AS Moore and G&G St. James are comparable to their price points... although at AFPoS' sale price, the AS Moore was an easy sell.
