What do you think about wearing the AS Herrick with this 3 piece sharkskin suit from BB to my best friend's wedding?  I will be one of four standing at the wedding (plus the groom makes 5).

We are to dress ourselves.  The only requirement was a medium gray suit and brown or burgundy shoes.  He is providing the tie, and I think it will be a very micro-patterned medium blue Canali.  It's not a formal wedding by any means.  And anyone who has seen the Herrick in person knows they are dark brown and I think will work perfectly with mid to dark grey suits.

I know this could get posted in the wedding forum, but I know ppl on this thread will be familiar with the AS Herrick.

Thanks!

Semi crappy pic of the suede semi brogue AS Herrick.  It's even a tad darker IRL.

thats a nice combo if appearances and the opinions of others matter to you. is this a fall wedding or summer? if you truly have license to dress however you like, go for something a little more, casual?

I like that combo, but be careful not to out dress the groom.

But you should always check with AFPOS with sizing by giving them your foot measurements to minimise disappointments.

Much appreciated

Does anyone have experience with AS 99 last and Carmina Simpson last? I am trying to decide between these two monks. Carmina would be $100 more.

Same size with the Simpson and the AS 99.

Carminas are sleeker/lighter and the AS feels more substantial. I prefer the latter.

I am bit old school, and while a brown suede shoes is perfectly fine with grey suits in most occasions, but it's a bit too casual for a wedding, it is still an important ceremonial occasion.

Combo also works but since you're in the party, I'd turn down the dandy since the special day belongs to the couple.

Is the color accurate in your pic? Looks more red than the previous entry. Either way I like it...

Probably just depends on the lighting.

Yeah, definitely one of those harder colors to describe but the redness does come out. When I get the chance I'll take a pic of it next to my Inverness and Wigmore to get a better idea of the color. Excellent and definitely not too light at all for me.
