If I remember correctly hand grade is couple notches above exclusive line but hard for me to justify paying single mto for hand grade. I feel exclusive line is worth bang for the buck with free lasted tree from afpofs.

The prominent differences were; hand lasted, better grade leather and that killer fiddle back waist...

AS made G&G before they had their own factory.

Here is some interesting information about AS Handgrade and relation to G&G in the second post to this old thread:

I know AFPOS no longer carries AS Handgrade, but is that something that can be ordered directly through AS? Those Millers look lovely and I completely missed out on them a couple of years ago.

My first pair of AS (for J CREW), and definitely won't be my last. Wearing them outside for the first time. Love the mahogany color and overall fit and finish.

AS does have a strong hand in country footwear.

Been eyeing Herring x AS Raleigh for some time and after it went half off, it sold! Argh! I wanted those blacks in 6F! censored.gif

Thank you!  The J crew pics don't do them justice. These really are beautiful in person.

Anyone know what line AS for AFPOS is from? Some of the models are exactly like AS for J CREW which I understa is at least a notch below the exclusive line and priced accordingly.

AFPOS carrys exclusive line step above jcrew & jcrew prices are same as AFPOS & you get step below but still not bad at all. I am very happy with mine AS from jcrew.

Never spend regular price on AS for J CREW.
