Anyone have any ideas on what last the Alfred Sargent plain toe boot for JCrew is?  Looks like a nice boot for fall.

It basically looks like the Cambridge or Holburn without the cap, right? So maybe the 87 last?

Does anyone in the US sell the AS Country Hannover?

I doubt it but a fine pair of shoes does and they ship free in two days from England. I cannot rave enough about their service. Sarah and Julian will be able to fit you via foot measurements.

Massive thanks for your recommendation scurvyfreedman, and yes just send us your foot length and width in cm to info@afinepairofshoes.co.uk and we will advise on size for you.

Any recommendations on how to size a pair of suede double-monks compared to Alden or Allen Edmonds?

Thanks!

X - Post:

Maybe somebody can help here - just received my new pair of AS Armfields in black. They are possibly one of the nicest plain captoes I have ever seen from any RTW brand.

Anyways my question is about the sizing of the 109 last. I am in between a brannock US 11 D/C width, with what I consider a lower then normal instep.

So, now that I've tried in these Armfields, it feels as if they are about 3mm longer then the AS 724 last, also with what I consider a pretty generous instep. I can close the lacing (obviously lacing my shoes tightly as possible) all of the way through, with just a slight 1/4" gap at the very top. There is a slight bit of heel slippage too. I know some say the slipping subsides after the soles are broken in.

I'm worried that after 1 or 2 wears the footbed will break in and the instep will be way too roomy causing these shoes to be unwearable.

Am I just being paranoid? I can't imagine I'd have to size all the way down to a 9UK from a US 11.
