There's so many people on here who think they know what's up, I think pictures are in order. Photos speak louder than words.

edit: I don't have a digital camera, once I get around to it I'll take a cell phone pic.

Agreed. Proof is in the putting as they say. Nothing worse than a fat personal trainer telling you how to lift. I've posted before but I'm still in similar shape.

I think one should triain for one's objective so this shouldn't be the huge bodybuilder thread persay. If you are a triathlete, runner etc. that deserves just as much respect.

My objectives are: Health, fitness, performance. My weight lifting centers around symmetry, leaness, and lastly size. Even from these pics, I would rather be leaner with less size. I have no desire to be bigger or to be a strength champion. I do no use alot of heavy weight but much more moderate with good form and slow eccentric movement. Enough Talk:

And NO I do not use Steroids, GH or anything the like. And yes I'm flexing Hard resulting is a 'huge' display rather than the relax where it doesn't look nearly so 'Huge' lol Also, the leaner you the larger you look but it reality can be deceiving.

shit man you are lucky, I have been dropping weight like mad because I cut my intake down quite a bit lately. My legs are defined and my arms are not terrible (for someone who doesnt have time to go to the gym often) but my stomach just will not get any deffinition. I have never had visible abs, always just a layer of fat that will not go away.

My bodyfat is once again high. I have had a hard time maintaining it w/o being on a calorie deficit. Bloated, ugh, not too happy. Oh well, no cutting until I hit 170

Probably genetics. After late stage puberty the body has a fixed number of fat cells. You can not destroy them, you can only make them smaller; however, if one has a high population of fat cells in the abdominal region you may never get a lean 6 pack as this is a physical limitation on how small you can get them. Hence, why liposuction (maybe mesotherapy/lipodesolve--although this could be junk science) is the only current known way to remove fat cells from the body and achieve a leaner look.

For example, I knew a friend in college who would bulk up, eat and get fat in the face and virtually everywhere else yet still had a 6 pack. Why? He has a great fat distribution with very minimal fat cells in the abdominal region.

There are various other metabolic conditions/ hormonal levels but the above is the real key. I just found this to back up the fact:
It is during puberty that the differences in fat distribution between men and women begin to take form. One amazing fact is that fat cells do not multiply after puberty -- as your body stores more fat, the number of fat cells remains the same. Each fat cell simply gets bigger!
