What's the consensus on the chinos? And how "slim" are the slim fit versions?

Also, anyone unsure of the maritime jacket should definitely cop it. I bought the collab w/ Woolrich last year and it is quite the specimen. It is a bit itchy thus I recommend wearing something light underneath. Per usual when I wear my TS gear, I received numerous compliments from strangers and it survived the cold of very Northern Arizona

Then slim is now slimmer than before and the straight leg is now wider.

I usually size up on the slim, but haven't had a chance with this latest round of chinos. They were out of that size.

I have a pair of the straight Khaki. A little wider than I'd like but they're a fantastic value. I like them as much as my canvas Rivets. Plan on ordering some slim Olive next week.

Agreed. I have 2 pairs of the slim, and the weight, cut, everything is perfect. They will also do free alterations for their Chinos if you live in the area and can get to their store. Big fan now.

I have two pairs of the new slim chinos (with one more on the way) and I'd say they are pretty slim but mostly below the knee. In fact, that it what appeals most to me about them - by going one size lower than my true size (i.e. getting size 35 when my waist is closer to a 36), the chinos are comfortable in the thigh and still tailored around my calves.

New slims are pretty slim at the lower thigh and knee. If you have larger thighs, I'd say the democratic fit are better. You could always get them tapered below the knee.

The democratic fit are leaning pretty hard towards an overall slim fit, just w/out a super narrow calf/hem. The slims are pretty skinny IMO.

overall fit and fabric wise, they are pretty fantastic value. (I own multiple pairs of Epaulet pants for a primary reference)

I have a pair of the selvage chinos (democratic fit) from last year that no longer fit me because I lost some weight. Those are 34 and very large on me. I ordered a pair of the standard issue in size 32 (democratic fit), and while they do fit, they seem just a bit more snug than I am comfortable with. They definitely don't fit as loose as they do on the model. I am torn between exchanging for 33 or taking my chances that these will stretch out a bit. I know these are still pretty new, but I am wondering if anybody has had these fit more loose after breaking in for a while. I definitely felt like the selvage chinos did.

On the same note, I am also wondering if it would be worth trying to get the selvage chinos tailored down to approximately a 32. I don't even know how it happened, but they look like Jim Harbaugh pants on me now.

The problem with bringing in the waist more than say 1" is that the SEAT still remains large. Tailoring a 34>32 will not yield the same seat as a stock 32.

I mentioned this before, but I think they went for more differential between the two fits. The slim is slimmer, the relaxed is bigger above the knee. I size up one on the slim and can split the difference between the two fits at TTS.

My personal rule for the thighs: if the slack goes beyond your thumb width when you grab and pull the fabric away from your thigh, there's too much room in the thigh so size down if possible.

They've been playing around with the cuts and I haven't been super excited about that. Threw off my sizing. The shirts are also tighter; the 36 was always a perfect fit, but now fits like a 35.5...and I've lost weight.

But, they are super consistent across the lines, which has always been their strong point.

I'll have to check out that butter soft flannel houndstooth. If they'd bring their signature belt in black or color 8, I'd be ecstatic.

And FYI, their chino fabrics are probably the best I've felt from any brand, equal to Gant's butter twill chinos, which are just gorgeous to handle.

Would love to hear your thoughts. I recently picked up a Yosemite, which I'm really happy with.

Considering the Maritime or the Sea Washed Denim as an over shirt purchase.
