1. JFK

2. Obama

3. FDR

4. Calvin Coolidge

5. Harry S Truman

What do you guys think? I am planning on making some edits later in the week to also include all the feedback from you guys. Here is a link to the full story:

I think Obama is a terrible dresser. His black tie choices are often borderline embarrassing. I think replacing him with Reagan would work. I'm not too familiar with Coolidge or Truman's dress, so I can't comment. Bush Sr. dressed decently (though a bit on the conservative side).

This looks very nice! Absolutely nos suggestions for improvements. smile.gif Thanks for sharing!

You had mentioned that you prefer thicker ties. We will actually be getting our first collection of 7-fold ties within the next 6-8 weeks. I will post as soon as they come in.

Hmm, thanks for the feedback and suggestion. I used to think that Obama dressed quite plain and boring, but what I do like is how he puts his outfits together: simple, sleek, and elegant. Personally I prefer more excitement in terms of patterns, colors, and fabric textures in my own wardrobe, but if you are the president of the United States, you just have to dress more conservative.

You said that Obama does a terrible job with his black tie ensembles. Got any pictures to share? Would really like to see some examples!

Much appreciated!

Take a look near the bottom of this page:

http://www.blacktieguide.com/Supplemental/Red_Carpet1.htm

It looks like he got better, but even in the last picture, he is still wearing notch lapels. For someone who has people doing his shopping and styling for him, he could certainly do a lot better.

As for his casual dress, he seems to suffer from "dad-jeans" syndrome. I also don't like when he doesn't wear a tie with a suit.

I wanted to congratulate StyleForum member "TonnyInch" for winning last week's dapper dude challenge. Your impressive score of 81,085 points won you a $100 gift certificate. Also, this score puts you on the 7th spot of the all-time record list. You are also the current record holder among the StyleForum community. worship.gif Once again, congrats!

So I received my Midnight Blue Textured tie in the free tie giveaway on Monday and decided to wear it today. (I have started a trend of Tie-Day-Friday with my office. I am in the quintessential "schlub" business casual office where the best dressed people wear old polo's, khakis, and black shoes...)

I can't take a picture at work, but the tie looks and feels great. I agree the knot is a little smaller than some of my others, but it's not a complaint. I am starting to grow into a more upscale look so I don't have a whole lot of experience with high end clothes. This tie as good or better than any of my current Macy's/Men's Warehouse and at a fraction of the cost. For those of us who can't drop $80+ on a tie it is a great value. I will continue to purchase to fill out my looks.

For your Friday Tie-Day, does that include a jacket of some sort? If not, I'm afraid you are leading your entire office down the wrong path...

Yeah but that has not caught on unfortunately. Maybe the fall/winter weather will bring some more out.

Nice! It is always nice to see when someone encourages others to dress in a well and respectable manner. Keep up the good work!

Did anyone watch the Republican National Convention lat night? Did anyone else thing Clint Eastwood's speech was awkward? I did! It actually inspired us to write about it on our blog:

What do you think?

I received my green wool tie from Hendrik, thank you. The color of the green wool has a very nice depth to it, as a wool tie should. The fabric seems fine, certainly more than good enough for the price. The tie itself is at least as nice as ties from the Tie Bar, at the same price (with a bit better shipping). The shipping box itself is a bit large, just so people with small apartment mailboxes realize. I would recommend Ties-Necktie over direct competitors (certainly over most department store ties), especially considering Hendrik is trying to maintain an active relationship with styleforum.
