ARN Mercantile, - Page 3

Just received my two pieces from Arn.  The WB Beat chino and the Shop Waist coat.  Unfortunately both are a size too big on me.  The WB Beat measures about 36.5 (for tag size 34) and the shop waist coat is 21.5 PtoP with back of 22.5 (tag size large).

sent both back.

Hello,

I know this will be shameless self promotion, but....... Honestly it nice to see our house tidy.

I appreciate the message he's trying to get across, but the tone is just a little too "holier than thou" for my liking.

Hardly. It's quite modest but entirely correct. If this makes you feel a bit less that holy having read this, then perhaps it's your conscience bothering you?  smile.gif

Has anybody else had trouble dealing with Neil/Arn Mercantile regarding purchases made from their web-shop?

I have had great difficulty with an order I placed approx. 11 weeks ago. I have yet to receive the shirt, or a refund, despite being in contact with Neil on numerous occasions. I have been told that not only was the order shipped, but a replacement shirt was sent due to the first non-delivery. I have also been told that I would given a refund due to the mix up. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive either the shirt or even a refund.

I did not open a PayPal claim since I was in contact with Neil and he seemed to be willing to fix the situation. Although he has told me on several occasions that he would look into the situation and get right back to me, there has never been any follow through with the promises. He has told me that he is away from his office on business, so I do understand that some delay is certainly reasonable. Nonetheless, I think that I have been much more than patient and that I have given more than enough time for this confusing situation to cleared up.

They've been nothing but fantastic in my experience (and I'm also in Ontario). I wonder whether something else is amiss in your case, if you have had two packages sent to you that have not arrived...

I have had two prior orders shipped from them without any difficulty, and I am very happy with all of my Arn clothing. My main frustration is with the manner in which this situation is being dealt with. I have been promised numerous times that it will be looked into 'tomorrow', then having them not get back to me. I have yet to receive any shipping or tracking information for either package. I was also told I would be refunded over a week ago and am still waiting on that.

A quick update on this situation:

Neil sent an email 2 weeks ago stating 'The second shirt was sent and I have told the office to refund your money, sorry I'm still away, will check with them tomorrow and send you the shipping info and the refund info'. The second shirt he mentions was supposedly sent mid-August and hasn't been delivered.

This would be great if they had any plans to actually doing these things. I have yet to hear back from them since that email was received. Please keep in mind that the original order was placed on July 2.

I have learned to always open a PayPal claim, even if you like the shop. It facilitates the refund much better.

Yes, lesson learned. Unfortunately, I assumed that since I was dealing with Neil, who essentially is Arn Mercantile, there wouldn't be a problem.

I definitely need to post a follow-up regarding my dealings with Neil and Arn Mercantile. It seems that while Neil was away on business, the web shop had some problems beyond his control. Upon his return, Neil promptly took care of the situation and the shirt was quickly sent along with a few other items to make up for the delay and inconvenience.

So, all is well that ends well!
