Are these shoes too light color for my dark blue suit?

Hello everyone,

I stumbled upon this forum and got interested right away as I'm keen on clothing in general as well. Anyway, I'm unsure if these shoes are of too light color with my dark blue suit? I'm only 19, wanted to stand out of the crowd with something else than a black suit as I'm having relatively formal party that I bought the suit specifically for.

This was closest to my suit's darkness, mine is maybe a bit more dark.

edit: here's a picture I took of them

Perfectly fine.

The colors are fine.

Don't wear them with a black suit and in general, try to avoid light brown for formal events.

Enjou your party.

It'll be a good combo for wearing to a party or social event.

No they are fine. I was considering getting a very similar color with a navy suit! Looks great in my opinion! But like what was said above please don't wear them with a black suit!

Pants bottoms are too slim. Always determine the bottom width by your shoe size.

I wouldn't say they are too narrow, but you need to get rid of the break to make them work. The shoes are fine.

The colour of the shoes is ok, style dreadful. Trouser legs are also far too narrow for you,

That was what I was actually thinking myself as well. I got bottom of the pants tapered, the tailor said they would look better and land better over the shoe/laces that way...Seems like he didn't know what he was doing. I'll go get that thing reversed Monday.

Sorry I'm from Finland and don't know what you mean. I need to get rid of the break, what break?

Okay, why is their style is bad? what kind of shoes I should look for then?

And why are they too narrow? I wanted a very slim fit model as I think the normal styles are way too wide for me and look awkward that way.

By 'break' he means where the trouser legs fold and wrinkle at the shins. For narrow trousers a clean line without that 'break' works well. Don't let people give you rules about trousers leg width, it's usually just their preferences speaking. At 19 years old you'll be fine with narrow trousers.

Break is the excess fabric bunching around the shoes. With pants that narrow, they should barely cover the top of the shoe.
