Would you be able to compare this to any Alden sizes or your Brannock measurement?

I'm selling the C&Js since I'm not happy with the fit. I have no point of reference for Alden, but I'm a 7.5E on Allen Edmond's 8 last and the C&Js feel at least half a size too long while being about my correct width.


I wish I could be of more help, maybe some Crockett and Jones owners could chime in?

Hello yirayira, hello David (know you from the Alden thread),

 

I have both the Alden BB LHS and the C&J Harvard in cordovan.

I guess the Harvard should only be compared with the BB LHS since both are unlined.

So I usually take the LHS unlined in 8.5D but the Harvard in 9D.

 

The small problem here is that it is not mentioned on the C&J whether it is in US or UK sizes.

In my opinion, it is US size since I take for instance the chukkas and others C&J in 8.5D or 8E UK, never in 9D UK...

 

Be aware that the Harvard is much tighter in the toe box than the LHS but is also more elegant in my opinion. As always, it will loosen with time.

As far as I'm concerned, this shoes will perfectly fit a standard 8.5D US (not sure for a 8E).

 

Good luck, I really like the Harvard.

For information, my memory tells me that my 9D US Harvard measure approximately 11" (insoles length) and roughly 4" in width (insoles).
