Korea's greatest contribution to food might very well be the perfection of fried chicken. I'm guessing I'm in the minority here (see what I did), but I find Korean fried chicken far superior to the traditional American version.
I think that because there is so much ubiquity of American style fried chicken, it's very easy to run into poorly done versions. I've found that most Korean Fried Chicken is done to a fairly high standard will almost always taste good. Hard to find consistently good American Fried Chicken, at least here in NYC that isn't in Harlem or the Bronx or $$$$.
its like a good pork chop. sometimes its a religious experience, meaty, *****, like a succulent version of turkey and bacon combined, then it can be meh, or can suck. I'll won't eat a good pork chop in over a year then have a perfect one at some random place and remember how good it can be.
