If nothing, it's Greece's most exciting match in ages. :brick:

That is irrelevant to the question of what they should makeup in the Euro squad unless you are a believer in quotas. And, yes, I missed that so you are making you your usual nonsense.
Ferdinand didn't get picked because he isn't good enough and is too old, not because Hodgson is a racist. If he were a racist he would not pick so many black players. Your bias is astounding, absolutely astounding.

Greek manager looks a bit pissed, wonder if he's going to get paid.

I never said that Hodgson was a racist. Only Hodgson knows why he didn't pick Ferdinand. What I do know is, the fact that he didn't pick Ferdinand --and took John Terry--shows he's a poor manager that deserved to be scrapped by Liverpool. The fact that you can't see that Ferdinand should be on the team just shows you don't know much about football--which is nothing new.

Are we back to the "Rio Ferdinand is the bestest defender evar!!!11!!!!!!!!one!!!" argument? It would be useless to call Ferdinand, England has a pitifully small chance of going anywhere this year (5.3% to win) so with a new coach and only the future to think of, why would you bring on half dead has-beens?

TBF, John Terry is in that same category.

But the fact of the matter is neither he nor Ferdinand are great defenders. Burton is just a ManU homer.

Obviously I am a Chelsea fan, but I will say at least John Terry puts his body on the line in every match. Yes, I may be bias, but I did not see the same type of commitment from Rio in the ManU matches I saw this season.

Personally would take Terry over Rio for sporting reasons every time. Rio's just been too injury prone forever.

But agreed - I wouldn't have taken either one for this tournament. Time's past on both.

I'm not saying that I like Terry, but you still need some experience even on a young team and he is a much more dependable player than Ferdinand (except when he inexplicably flops while already outpaced on a breakaway)

Part of that is the style of player they are, though. Each at their peak, Rio is without a doubt the better player, but both are past it now.
