^Stephen Hunt kneed him in the head resulting in a depressed skull fracture. Asshole **** ref Mike Riley made him crawl off the pitch to receive treatment for an injury that could have killed him. Since he is a triplet his skull isn't as strong as normal people, so they had him wear the protective cap. I think this was the last season he had to wear it, but I think he will continue to wear it.

In the same game the backup keeper was knocked out and John Terry was in goal for five minutes.

I remember seeing bits and pieces of this game. ^^ Frightening stuff. What's-his-name on Inter wears a helment (Chivu?) for a similar injury.

I watched the entire game. It was appalling. Cech certainly did almost die from what I understand, in part because no one had planned for an injury like that. It took too long for him to receive proper care but he pulled through. Improvements have been made in the years since then, and apparently Muamba is one of the beneficiaries. People were ready when he collapsed.

I had some positive feelings towards Reading prior to that incident, largely because Ms. DLester's dad used to live there and I have visited. I was happy to see them promoted that year. But Hunt basically ruined Reading for me. I couldn't watch them play after that. I can't say it was a rational reaction; it was Hunt not the rest of them. **** him and **** every team he joins (sorry Wolves).

**** Hunt

He is a prick and, in fine cockney-rhyming style, we now refer to people as 'Stephen Hunts'. But, it's the sort of snyde little dig that happens a million times in a game of fitba which barely merits a yellow card. I'm sure Hunt was mortified at the damage he did. But that's what can happen - doubt any of those oafs like Shawcross set out to snap opponents' legs in half but jumping in, go through from behind, leading with the elbow, etc can have that result and it's about time they were taken seriously.
This prick, on the other hand, should have received a prison sentence. And when pulled up on it, simply made a joke about offering to pay for his dental bill. What a complete 'Stephen Hunt' Schumacher was.

And when I say players don't set out to seriously injure other players, I except this arsehole too:

On the Arjen Roben posts, he left Chelsea because Real bid for him and he wanted to go. I had a mate with a season ticket for the Bridge at the time and used to go along a fair bit and the system did work well. Most of the team sat deep and Roben, Drogba and Duff waited for the ball: quickest front three I've seen. Brutally effective though not one the neutrals were ever going to love.

Roy Keane admitting he didn't even know if Alfie Haaland had the ball or not but just wanted to snap his leg? One Alfie Haaland, there's only one Alfie Haaland.

Who has spent the rest of his life complaining that Keane's tackle ended his career when, in fact, it did not.

Lee Cattermole is another motherfucker. He's going to really **** someone up one day. Lee Boyer also.

And then there is (cant even watch it) that criminal Ben Thatcher who could have killed Pedro Mendes:

No he hasn't.

Keane ended his career. Kid came back to play for a while but couldnt move anymore. Should have taken all of Keane's money. Keane is a bigtime asshole. He'll never be a great manager. He's immoral.

There is a difference between going in for every tackle and deliberately trying to end someone's career, see Shawcross on Eduardo (I think), he never backs out of a tackle but you know he didn't mean to injure the lad. The ref even said to him "I know it wasn't intentional but because of the injury I have to send you off". Football is a contact sport and sometimes people get injured.

Keane didn't even end Haaland's match the soft ****. Reckons he's a hard man but he wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes against any team in the 70s let alone at ER. Got shown for what he is when he was filmed swearing at players in his son's U12 team.

Edit to add Thatcher's was clearly deliberate and he should have been tried for assault or GBH.
