People w/ small minds like to spin whatever they can into giant social issues. Happens in the US, happens in Europe, happens anywhere there's a traditional conflict between the homogenous population and an other. Insecure people just have this itching need to find any justification possible to try to bring those two groups onto equal ground.
Does years and years of cultural upbringing and social history affect the use of language? = yes.
Are African(Americans) in general as well considered/respected/treated as a lighter skinned person in whatever country you're addressing? - No, probably not.
Does this mean that the entire population by association is a die-hard racist? = no.
Is describing someone for what they are, ie black/white, in any way meant to be offensive? = no.
Does utilizing your own nation's language, with all of its nuances and history imply racist thought? = no.
Does a GoogleTranslate version of a foreign phrase convey context, etymology, or linguistic subtlety? = no.
Does racism still exist? = yes.
Is there really anything we can do about it? = no.
