Really appreciated article on ESPN tonight; Gonzalo Higuaín, Real's Man for all Seasons. Would not be opposed to sending Benzema out for Falcao, but one of my highest footballing hopes is that Madrid retain El Pipita as a one-club player, until invariably sending him back to River Plate in his mid-30s. Most underrated striker in the world.

Interesting read about Higuain, especially comparing his output to Benzema's. I wonder if Domenech, Blanc or Dechamps ever think what if his family had stayed in France.

Yes, Pipita hadn't even decided which Natl team to play for until early 2010 or so - Maradona refused to call him up so his first Argentina cap wasn't until one of the last 2 qualifiers pre WC-2010, or there roundabouts. Would've hurt to have him play for France.eek.gif

it wouldn't be outrageous for them to ponder this but considering we got Trezegoal from a similar situation I'd say we don't have too much to complain about

Just watched the biggest holy shit match I've ever seen.

Reading v. Arsenal. Extraordinary come back from Arsenal for a 5-7 win

I intended to turn the match off after the first half since it was pretty laughable but I watched the entire thing. So worth it. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Chelsea v United surely not another 12 goal thriller?

Seemed like a pretty clear PK denied to Chelsea...

Dempsey....ffffuuuu.gif

But on a brighter note, 4 straight for the Rossoblu. Top half of the table - heady stuff.

Oh and 49 and counting for Juve.

In the midst of all the depressing crap flying around football at the moment, it was nice to see some humour at the Chelsea - Man U match. The Clattenburg banner was a nice response to the Terry banner, but my favourite was:

Chelsea: Standing up to racism since Sunday

Know there is not much MLS love here but I would regret not having this down for posterity.

Historical day for us Whitecaps supporters. Best wishes down in LA for our first ever MLS Playoff match.

"Boundary Road, take me home,
To the place where I belong.
Vancouver, pretty mama,
Take me home, Boundary road."

Oh and one more for the road.

"Weeeeeeee love you, we love you, we love you,
And where you play,
We follow, we follow, we follow,
‘Cause we support,
The Whitecaps, the Whitecaps, the Whitecaps
And that’s the way,
We like it, we like, we like it,
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-ohhhhhhhhhh,
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-ohhhhhhhhhh,
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-ohhhhhhhhhh,
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-ohhhhhhhhhh."
