Wow, todays match was not very nice to look at but still Eintracht once again managed to come back from a 0-1 deficit and win 2-1.
I love the moral in this team.

Hate barca because I was born into real, lived in madrid, was a socio for 5 years.  Also barca's whole "holier than thou schtick".  Hate Man U because, pool is my second team. Third team is PSG from living in paris.

No, just find the whole United worship thing tiresome considering they are the second favourite team in the City of Manchester and that has been the case in all of history not just recent times.
I only truly follow and support teams where I have a strong connection via family/ancestoral ties. So it is in alpha order Barcelona (ethnic/ancestoral history), Cagliari (entire family comes from the region), Juventus (relatives worked for club, another relative played for club) and Vancouver Whitecaps (where I live and have cheered for since 9 years of age). And if people hate those clubs, could care less after all that is what makes following football so much fun.

You haven't spent much time in Manchester have you.

well it comes from meeting dozens of people who come from Manchester or whose parents were born there and have lots of family still there. So honestly maybe 40-50 different people in my life - a grand total of one United supporter amongst them and his parents and all relatives are City supporters.

That and I have read it so much amongst football literature and have yet to find anything written about football culture in Manchester that says different. So if it is an urban myth then it is one not being challenged much.

If you live there or have spent lots of time there and it is different then I will defer to your knowledge and respect that. Still don't like 'em.

Heck even I will admit Torino FC are more popular than Juventus in Torino but it is a fairly even split.

Smashwindow - have no hard feelings about you hating Barca you come by it honestly.

Hell I can only get so mad at other supporters, it is only football after all. Nearly came to the aid of a Sounders supporter last night after a drunken moron started hassling him and his girlfriend - buffoon moved on thankfully. And I hate the Sounders!!!!

I don't love l'OM but they used to make me dream in the nineties with le grand OM...

haha yeah I have to admit some of those teams were pretty awesome. And their C1 win in 93 is still one of my top footy memories, despite all the shameful revelations that have come since.

OK this is making me feel dirty. Can't wait for le Classico on Sunday so I can revert to my OM-hater ways biggrin.gif

Having had Rangers cheated out of the champions league final by OM, they are easy to hate. But it's a proper football city (the only one?). I've been to the Velodrome (1-1 draw with Auxerre, Cisse and Bakayoko with goals from memory) and really enjoyed it, in spite of a pretty piss poor game. I'm probably the only Rangers fan who doesn't actively despise them. Rather Rennes won ligue un though.
