I would have grave doubts except for the fact that is backed by massive ME oil money. They seem to be reaching deals with everyone to get their network in front of people, apparently giving rights holders 2x the money they are used to seeing, and the Comcasts of the world are getting their fat share as well. They should be fine.

The Al Jazeera brand will hurt them somewhat in the US, because...well you know people are pinheads about certain stuff these days. They should be called the "FUCKIN HELL YES AMERICA!!!" network here, or maybe the "TITTIES AND BEER" channel, then they can show soccer or whatever they want. Know your audience.

It's all just pissing away money anyway. Buy a club? Alright. Buy the rights to broadcast major leagues in Europe? I suppose that will be okay.

Edit: A bit of a harsh comparison for the cable company. The fact that they paid about twice as much for the rights than had been paid before made me initially think they were just throwing money at it. Maybe it means that soccer is truly growing in America biggrin.gif

I'm absolutely gutted about the result vs. Man City. I hate using the word "deserve" to talk about winning or losing matches, but both of City's goals were gifts on silver platters. Reina should have moved out to the corner of the box when he rolled the ball to Skrtel to give him an angle for a back pass, or at least shout at him to hoof it up the field.

A few more days left in the transfer window. Hopefully we'll be in for some fun. Tottenham could have a monster week.

How Tottenham got so much money for Modric?

They might for M'Vila and Lloris now..

Because he's a great player?

They only got 26m for him, and he's still pretty young. Chelsea offered 40m for him last year.

RAI International signed a deal last Friday for rights to air Serie A matches in the US. Broadcasts are are in Italian, obviously, but who would want it any other way?

RAI International is available on Verizon Fios for an extra subscription fee. Not sure about Comcast or others.

Bojan apparently on the cusp of moving from Roma to Milan. Wonder if all that Barça buy-back stuff will jump ship along with him.

Also, ACMilan officially putting the kabosh on rebuying Kaká - "too many risks involved" for a player who won't stay healthy and has no form. Great.

You know, it's been said millions times - if Walcott wanted to stay, he would've signed a new contract already. 3 days of the transfer window left, I certainly won't be surprised if Arsenal sells him.
