Leeds possibly getting new owners, rumours on Twitter are of some Kuwaiti dude with more money than Sheik Mansour. Not sure whether success on the pitch be worth all the plastic hangers on and lack of good away days if true.

Poland and Ukraine's problems with hooliganism and racism sound very similar to stories of the 70s and 80s in English football and yet we were still allowed to host Euro 96 even with the threat of the IRA. If it were that bad they would ban or warn away fans from going to club matches in those countries or there would be fans killed there but none of that happens.

Not that UEFA give a fuck about anything like that even if it does happen, see Istanbul being awarded the 2005 European Cup final the day after announcing an inquiry into the deaths of Chris and Kev.

Eastern European countries are 40 years behind us for a lot of things...

I remember French and English players being abused during matches in coutries like Macedonia..

In France , it is quite rare...

Of course ,it does happen because racism is not dead..

Even in England ,where a lot of work has been done, the former captain is up on trial in july for racial abuse...

There is a major difference though. Not to defend Terry in anyway, however, he probably said it in the heat of the moment and he is just one man.

In these backward eastern European countries there are whole gangs of these narrow minded fools. They go specifically to games to cause trouble, they probably don't even realize who is playing, as long as they kill the black people!

Racism is present in every society even the most advanced...

Just check the recent racist rants incidents on the London underground..

They're not individual incidents but it doesn't mean that London has more racist people than other capitals..

More advanced societies are just better at masking it behind laws , educational programs , PR exercises but it is an underlying problem...

In Eastern Europe , it is just raw because for years they haven't been confrontated to African ,Carrabean immigrants...

I find that abhorrent...

I have Slovak friends and they're extremely racist towards black people even if they're themselves immigrants..

Pot , Kettle ,black..

Reports are that Liverpool are going to hire Brendan Rodgers from Swansea. Someone please tell me I should be happy about this; or will it make no difference and I'll see another mid-table finish next season since so much money has been poured into transfers that there isn't much to do but roll with them?

Damien Comolli has been sacked after his arguable transfert policy...

Brendan Rodgers has been a hell of a good job with Swansea , like Martinez with Wigan.
