EDIT: Just stumbled across this immensely intriguing article about Osvaldo Alonso (Seattle Sounders) - defected from Cuba during the 2007 Gold Cup, and has just recently gained US-citizenship. Should he be allowed to play for the USMNT?

Ended up watching it with a work mate from Germany who put the Bayern final on a "beamer" in the neighbourhood. Bloody hell it was tense until Klose put it away. At the bar, the third television was showing reporters in Greektown tracking Hellas supporters.

The USMNT would be lucky to have Alonso. I have seen him play about 50 games, and he is a beast.

Reus looked good. Boateng was the weakest link. The Germans look considerably better than anyone else in this competition, despite the occasional lazy passing and complacency that is driving Low crazy.
