Saw it yesterday and really liked it. Might be a good place to conclude the Daniel Craig Bond though.

Not going to happen. Craig is contracted for at least 2-3 more Bonds.

Anyone see it in IMAX? The IMAX release is a day early here so I thought about going to see it, but sometimes the format can detract if it wasn't filmed initially for that format.

i've seen it twice.

enjoyed it....probably would have enjoyed it more had i not read the wiki spoiler...

should have left the aston martin out of the commercials/promotional ads.....would have been a nice surprise.

Deakins and director Sam Mendes shot the entire film framing for not only the 2.35:1 theatrical aspect ratio, but also a 1:90:1 aspect ratio for the IMAX version of the movie. The result is that you see more in the IMAX version of the movie.

It was great, despite the shitty performance by the two girls, who were awkward and heavy-handed. Otherwise is was classy stuff. Bardem was outstanding. Cinematography is great. The storyline was much more simple than the previous outing.

I found it unusual that there was no real love scene other than the one in the beginning. Once there was a cut before they even started kissing.

Yeah, I can't recall a Bond where sex played less of a role. I wouldn't be surprised if they trimmed some that type of footage out.

Saw it today and enjoyed it-well done imho. the scene where he downed the scotch with the scorpion on his wrist was an over the top home run. the asian mix babe was smoking hot. I was also a bit surprised by the lack of 'interaction' by Bond and the women.

Our crowd laughed at Bardem at a time when I would have least expected it...

Just got home from seeing it. I loved it. Bardem was great. That first scene between him and Bond was something else. Judi Drench was phenomenal. Berenice was gorgeous. The first time Bond sees her. Jesus Christ! I agree that I wish they would've kept the Aston Martin a secret, the audience still clapped when they first showed it, though. I'll more than likely go see it again on IMAX this weekend.

One of the best along with Casino, Goldeneye, Goldfinger, Thunderball and Dr. No

Worst thing about this movie was the tight Tom Ford suit and the "Rumsfeld" collar. Got on my nerves.

Aston Martin scene was the best. I wasn't expecting it going in, but as soon as Craig mentioned the "company car" while opening the garage, I leaned over to my friends and whispered "DB5!!!!"

But yeah, I think they could have done a better job w/r/t that. After all it's James Bond. Should be a more classic fit.

Lots of product placement with the Audi and VW Beetle callout, the Omega watch shot, Heineken beer, and Macallen 50 Scotch.

Yep, but you forgot Sony. wink.gif
But seriously, Heineken? I looked out for it all the time (because I've read that Heinken was going to replace the Martini)... and never seeen it. Actually, Bond ordered a real cocktail in Macau. Where were the Heineken scenes? [Edit: Just Google'd it.. apparently in the beginning and in some office scene.. anyway, not very effective, since I neither actively noticed it nor craved Heinkene (how could I?)] I think they always did very well product placemenent (s.t. it doesn't really interfere with the experience but actually adds to it).
