The gadgets are a core part of what makes a Bond movie a Bond movie. If you don't enjoy that kind of stuff, then maybe you should seek other more generic films in the spy genre. It's like complaining about the amount of absurdly hot women he easily beds or his fine tailoring.

Completely serious. Gadgets are part of what makes a Bond movie fun. Keep in mind I am not saying they should go overboard or make them unrealistic like some of the earlier films, but that it is odd to want to see the use be kept to such a minimum.

Also, I think you may have misunderstood my comment about his way with women and his fine tailoring. I was comparing it to one saying they would like to see Bond wear way less tailored clothing and not be so lucky with ladies in future films. Nothing wrong with one having issues with the type of tailored clothing he wears or how he goes about getting these women to share a bed with him.

Well since his suits fit like absolute crap, I think the lack of tailoring is already there. And the gadgets are often far too deus ex machina for me.

Did not like this movie.

Was hard to put my finger on exactly what it was. The plot just never seemed believable, and that stopped me from getting into the movie completely.

Right from the outset with the motorcycle chase; it just seemed too set-up and not realistic enough. I know you could say the same thing about the beginning of Casino Royale (which I loved), but that at least tempered the amazing parkour/free running with Bond's less-than-elegant following of the villain (using a digger, busting through gib board rather than jumping over it etc etc). It seemed that Bond was an amazing agent but it didn't pretend that he was a gymnast or a freerunner or a motocross biker.

And then he survived being shot off a train and landing 30metres down into a fucking waterfall? it's just too much.

I didn't buy the bad guy story either. I just couldn't believe that a) he had no financial backing except himself b) he was able to completely compromise MI6 with his masterplan of wanting to get caught. And then there just wasn't the intensity.

Finally the scenes in Scotland just felt like a Western and just not something with the smoothness and class of a Bond movie. I know I shouldn't be complaining about too many explosions and gunshots, but really I could watch a war movie or something if I wanted to see mass carnage. There were no slick assassination moves, no well thought-out action just a mass barrage of it.

And then the inevitable part where he sees something he can explode. It was the last straw. I can cope with a bit of convenience in movies, but this was too much.

I enjoyed Quantum of Solace more.

Oh and I forgot about the bloody bullet parts that supposedly led them to the dude.

a) bullshit that 3 men in the world use them.

b) Are they expecting us to believe that during that whole fight scene they couldn't recover any CCTV footage of the dude and identify him?

A long, tedious, insultingly stupid commercial. Horrible script, horrible acting, horrible casting, and possibly dumber than Prometheus.

It had the best theme song for a Bond movie. And no, Why. I would not like to get into a discussion about different voice modulations and other reasons why it was sonically unpleasing to your ears. I just really like Adele, okay?

i first heard the Adele song on the radio and i thought it sucked. but then heard it again during the opening credits and it seemed to "fit" a lot better. it's clearly a Bond theme to me, but not really a standalone song

I don't like Adele but I didn't mind the song as much as her other 'hits'. Chris Cornell's Bond song was the worst, and of course Duran Duran's was the best.
