Frankly, I don't know. I haven't been out to Greenfield in some time.

I was in a BB 346 store not that long ago looking at suits and the attendant mentioned that they have a MTM program.  I know for a fact that there aren't any non outlet (346) stores in the area so she was obviously indicating that they offer it at that store (I assume for 346 suits).  I didn't ask any questions about it as I was in a hurry, but I imagine the price point (and quality) would be a bit lower.  It could possibly be a decent option for someone looking to acquire a nicely fitting suit at a lower price point.

 

 

Anyone have and experience with this particular program?  Anyone ever heard about something like this before?

Yes, stay away from 346 stores.

Been a while since you had a look at the 1818 offering? They have now (well actually for 5+ years) several cuts, two of which have double vents (Regent and Milano).

After multiple years at one of the MBB firms: US colleagues usually run around in business casual, Europeans and Asians in suits (most commonly you will see Italian labels (with double vents) and custom made suits (with double vents)).

The selection process is competitive and includes a variety of criteria. The quality of your suit or options like single vs. double vent will NOT be taken into consideration at all. So, a purchase of an MTM suit won't get you a nanometer closer to your career goal.

Agreed. IMO, Brook's Brothers is over-priced, and the actual suits are only decent.

People from "B-school circles" recommended BB to you? You have to realize that a lot of those people aren't the type of people who care about a site like this. They just want to buy expensive, branded clothes to make them feel like big shots. If you can find a BB suit for between 3 and 4 hundred dollars, then it may be worth it. It will be convenient, but you'll probably still need to have it altered. If it was me, I'd buy a few online mtm suits, but that may take more measuring than you're comfortable with. In a b-school class, you can count the number of people who are wearing suits on one hand. The person who's wearing a suit is usually the middle-aged guy with an accounting or banking background.
