My first Gucci Shoes - Opinion? - Page 3

Look at the last negative feedback: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=malvinas_luxuries&iid=-1&de=off&items=25&which=negative&interval=365&_trkparms=negative_365

You hit a home run here.

I think the shoes he bought are genuine, but feedback doesn't always tell the whole story. The seller probably bought Zilfis shoes from an outlet or on a sale and earned some cash by selling them on eBay.

One negative feedback should not spoil thousands of very positive feedbacks.

But you have to take into account that the majority of people buying Gucci on eBay don't have the ability to spot fakes.

They're not the nicest looking loafers I've seen, and I also don't like a squarish toe. But you've bought 'em, so now you gotta live w/ 'em. Assume you're wearing those w/ jeans and casual trousers, right? How about with a thobe? Most fellas in the Gulf it's just sandals w/ the traditional dress, pillow case, and fan belt. And I think sandals actually look better w/ a thobe; certainly wouldn't wear double-soled brogues. I think you could wear those Guccis w/ a winter thobe that's in grey. I wouldn't wear 'em w/ the white, cream or brown thobe.

If you're keen on a brown loafer w/ the horse-bit (your OP mentioned this) you ought to look at another maker.

I think these are age appropriate for ya.

Curzon, I will actually be wearing this with a thoob and I think it will suit well. Hopefully.
Thanks for the shoes you posted but definitely not my cup of tea. Looks like pirates loafers :-)

Regards.

White thobe I assume - it's that time of year, isn't it? Go w/ a brown or tan loafer. Post pictures of you wearing the thobe and the Guccis.

I already have a brown and tan loafer. Time for something black.
I have a few other black and brown ferragamo's on mind like these:

1) http://www.ebay.com/itm/SALVATORE-FERRAGAMO-GREGORY-SLIP-ON-LOAFERS-BLACK-SHOES-13-D-495-/130694957050?pt=US_Men_s_Shoes&hash=item1e6e06c7fa

2) http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Salvatore-Ferragamo-Brown-Leather-Gancini-Loafer-Shoes-Men-11-5-D-US-Cantino-/390417669534?pt=US_Men_s_Shoes&hash=item5ae6b4dd9e

I don't mind Ferragamo and Gucci quality as long as it can last me at least 5 years. By then the style will be outdated and then buy the newer trend and life goes on.

Regards.

My next purchases will most probably be Mantellasi, Santoni and Gravati

Where do you plan to buy Gravati in Bahrain?

The soles on those Guccis you bought aren't really meant for strolling around in. They're more suitable for leisurely wear, around the house, running some errands to/from your car etc. I strongly doubt the soles will last 5 years with regular wear.

Also, you don't buy shoes due to trends. You buy shoes you like, not shoes that GQ/Esquire/SF likes.

Thank your for your post UncleCozy.
What I meant was the shoes that you definitely like and buy(otherwise why buy shoes you don't like?) will probably have a turnover of 5 years max. within your wardrobe by that time you got bored with your shoes and will buy a newer one.

I will be using the shoes for office only 2 to 3 times a week.

Regards.

that's one ugly toe box in my opinion. nothing wrong with horseys but they are usually and these are absolutely not my cup of tea. however they might suit your style when I read that you are wearing thobes and are from bahrain.

Not enough branding on them. Paying all that money, how are people supposed to know you're wearing Gucci?
