A Fine Pair of Shoes x Alfred Sargent MTO Thread - Page 39

If you're looking for ideas and didn't see my posts on these recent mto's from AS, here they are:

Carroll loafers w/o the tassel and made to exclusive standards

Modified Holburn boot in shell cordovan, with an extra 2-3 inches of height and a bellows tongue for increased water resistance

More pics in the AS handgrade pic thread. I love them both and if funds allowed, I'd get the the boots in black shell and the loafers in brown suede and black calf (no medallion). Maybe in a year or three.

Is the Benson still due in mid-December?

Incredible. How long was the wait?

Thanks R. It was about a year. But three things caused the delays: 1. my vacillation in boot design, 2. a shortage of cognac shell (as you know in this thread), and 3. a huge order placed before the shell arrived and I settled on a design that had to be finished. I think 3-6 months is the norm. Certainly was for previous orders.

Guys,

Does AS have light tan leather color similar to EG Acorn?
Anybody else interested in another boot MTO?

The Ramesy in Navy Cordovan would be great as long as we could get it on a hand grade last like the 19.  I think 19 looks very similar to the regular 99 last of the Ramsey and allows for more width options for SFer (myself included).

The Alex in a dark Cordovan like Cigar or a dark brown calf would be nice (again on a Handgrade last like the 48 which is quite close to the 724 to my eye) .  I'm not sure I could be convinced to go for black unfortunately.

The keats is also a great looking shoe.  I'd prefer something a little darker than #4 maybe like ravello shell?  If it still exists?

All right 2nd vote for Ramsey in Navy cordovan

AS only uses 4 colors of shell: burgundy, whiskey, cognac, & black. Daydream accordingly.

I'd be interested in the Alex in Cigar shell as well, though black shell works for me too. You can get F widths on the 724 right?

Also, an update estimate for the Milton & Blake would be greatly appreciated as well!

Ouch, well the day dreaming was nice while it lasted.  Thanks for the heads up.

We might have to think about cognac instead of cigar.  You can get F in the 724 but I would probably need a G which is why I would need the 48 :/  I'm also not sure if my order of that boot in such a wide with would ruin the shape/look for that design.

Ah ok Cognac works for me as well, close enough to Cigar. I'm not too familiar with AS lasts so anything would most likely work as my feet aren't super wide

Navy calf works too. I missed out on Milton.
