Btw, mad props to the folks at AS or being able to get the rare shell colors. If they can keep it up and at these current prices, I'll continue buying.

That Balmoral looks flat out fantastic and was one of my grails a while ago, but I have to balance this against other purchases. A few months ago and I would have been on this bandwagon early.

In a way it does not suck as much as it should because it's better for my wallet this way. Best of luck guys, I will wait for pics down the road.

+1. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for more exotic shell options.

 

When I've corresponded directly w/ Chay Cooper @ AS, he listed the 4 colors discussed here (http://www.styleforum.net/t/233902/a-fine-pair-of-shoes-official-affiliate-thread/525#post_5449660) as the only shell options. I went w/ the #8 for single monks & am still waiting for oxfords in whiskey w/ a black saddle ordered in Dec.

I definitely wish they had these in stock; it would be a no-brainer. I am an instant gratification type of guy-still on the fence for the boot.

I am much the same way. But occasionally I have the willpower to go this route with an MTO, shoes, suit or whatever. In the end it is worth it. It will feel bad that you are out of pocket now with nothing to show for it, but when the shoes ship and you pay the balance, it will feel like you got them for half price. Plus the boots will arrive right in time for balmoral boot weather.
